Contestant progress[]
At the end of each episode, one chef is eliminated from the losing team by Ramsay. That season featured an elimination from the winning team for the first time since Season 11, and the second chef that was eliminated after a challenge. It is also the first season ever that featured an all-female final three, and the last one until Season 17 where Ramsay cut the field in half immediately before the finals. Similar to Season 6 and Season 7, this is the third season where the final two chefs had finished the contest as another winner/runner-up pairing that avoided nomination for elimination.
