The Pasta Making Challenge is a recurring challenge in Hell's Kitchen.
Overview[]
For that challenge, Ramsay has both teams make pasta from a pasta machine with a certain time limit. Once both teams completed making their pasta strands, they must have one person from their team hold the pasta on their arms/body. Once time was up, Ramsay will look at the pasta from each team and accept them if they match his standards before placing them on a scale. The team with the most weight wins.
This challenge tests the chef’s ability make pasta to Ramsay’s standards and how fast they can do so.
History[]
Season 1[]
Episode 5 was when the challenge first took place. It happened when there were 7 chefs left, 4 on the red team, and 3 on the blue team. Ramsay gave both teams twenty minutes to make as much pasta as they could. Because the red team had an extra person, Ramsay asked Chris to sit out. The pasta holders were Andrew from the blue team and Jimmy from the red team. The red team won the challenge 2.45lbs over the blue team’s 2.41lbs. The red team had a gondola tour with cheese and wine while the blue team had to make pasta for the Pasta Night dinner service.[1]
