The eighteen new chefs arrived at Los Angeles in two separate limos heading to Hell's Kitchen. The limos arrived at Hell's Kitchen, where Marino was waiting for them. Marino greeted the chefs and introduced them to their Sous Chefs Christina and Jason. They explained that there would be obstacles, but you could not let them get in your way. Later, Ramsay was on a monster truck and crashed into a car, shocking the contestants. Ramsay used it as an example of not letting anything get in your way. Ramsay explained how the limos got them where they wanted to go, and he wanted a chef to take him where he wanted to go. Ramsay questioned whether to hire a chef in their 20s or a chef in their 40s and announced that this season would be a battle of the ages. Ramsay told the contestants to separate between a group of 20s and a group of 40s. Ramsay announced the Signature Dish Challenge and gave the chefs 45 minutes to cook their dishes.
During the Signature Dish Challenge, Sous Chef Jason wondered why O'Shay was using orange soda. He said he would mix it with the collard greens, leaving Jason shocked. He expressed how his mom used to teach him how to cook to keep him from trouble in the neighborhood he used to live in. Now he's an Executive Chef, ready to show what he's got and was prepared to win. When Nicole revealed she used boxed pasta, he questioned why she would do that when everyone knows that's not allowed in Hell's Kitchen. He was the sixth person from the blue team to have his dish judged by Ramsay and went up against Cheyenne. He revealed he was an Executive Chef at a catering company. He presented a crispy skin salmon with parmesan corn grits with orange soda collard greens, which left Ramsay needing clarification about the orange soda. When Ramsay asked what was on the outside, he revealed a little orange soda, leaving Ramsay questioning more orange soda. Ramsay praised the salmon for being cooked beautifully and having good elements. Ramsay felt the dish should be a five but gave him three points due to the orange soda. The blue team lost the challenge after a tiebreaker at 31, and they were punished with the delivery day and cleaning both kitchens.
O'Shay called the deliveries the worst punishment during the punishment, which hurt so much. Then he felt like Billy wasn't taking this seriously, leaving him annoyed.[1]
O'Shay felt like he had it during the Creative Chicken Wing Challenge since he made a bunch of wings. When Sous Chef Jason tasted his dish, the former revealed it was raw, which made him feel crushed. He lost the challenge as he was not called as part of the top three. When Alex was named the winner, it left him stressed as he did not want to go home first. He and Billy were named the bottom two of the blue team by Alex. He was the fourth and final person to present, and when asked how he cooked them, he replied that he pan-seared them and that he should've left it longer. Ramsay praised the spinach for being delicious but criticized it for not going with the wings. He stated that he wanted to do something different. He survived elimination after Ramsay sent him back in line, which left him relieved. He said he doesn't like losing, being on the bottom, and being on the chopping block, saying he would bounce back.
O'Shay was at the fish station during dinner service with Abe. he was not seen much that night and the blue team lost the service. They were asked to nominate two people for elimination.
He was not nominated for elimination.[2]

Before the Whole Lobster Prep Challenge, O'Shay called Ramsay a ninja upon seeing the latter clean a lobster. During the challenge, he said he used to work at a lobster restaurant and said he would work like a surgeon. He was the third person from the blue team to present his attempt, but it looked messy due to a missing part of a claw, a missing knuckle, and only four legs. He failed to score, and that angered Billy. The blue team lost the challenge 5-6, and they were punished by making seafood stock out of fish guts and separating the rice. As the blue team went up to the dorms, he felt they were cursed due to their losing streak. During the punishment, he had no idea what each fish looked like.
During dinner service, O'Shay was at the meat station with Nicole. He called out five minutes for the Wellingtons, which annoyed Nicole as he said it every other minute. He cut into an overcooked Wellington and did not respond to Ramsay, leaving the latter frustrated that no one was talking to him. After being late on walking the Wellingtons, they turned out to be overcooked. Later, he failed to give Ramsay a time on the following order: a two top celebrating their fortieth wedding anniversary. He walked up his lamb, but it was raw, and a fed-up Ramsay kicked the blue team out of the kitchen.
The blue team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, Billy saw the meat station, O'Shay and Nicole, as the apparent nominees, and Abe found no motivation or motion from them. Alex said he did not hear from either of them, while Nicole felt she did not get any feedback from him. He asked what they wanted him to do due to the temperature drops, but Billy told him to take things out fast. Still, he was frustrated that he was struggling with something he knew what to do and nominated Billy for messing up two nights in a row.
O'Shay was the blue team's first nominee for elimination, with Nicole as the second. During his plea, Ramsay asked what had happened to him. He admitted that meat got away from him and that he had a bad night, while Nicole felt she did not get any communication from him. When Ramsay asked him if he was a better chef than Nicole, he said he was, as he did not drag people down on his mistakes. He was eliminated for his poor performance on meat and having no fight back that night. During his exit interview, he was disappointed he did not perform to his standards, but he planned on taking what he learned from Ramsay and keep dreaming.
Ramsay's comment: "Some evictions are harder than others. This was an easy one. Goodbye, O'Shay."[3]
