Episode 1[]

Main article: Episode 501 - 16 Chefs Compete

Thousands of chefs auditioned for Hell's Kitchen in the series' biggest turnout. However, only three hundred arrived at Hell’s Kitchen and met Jean-Philippe and Ramsay. Out of the three hundred, sixteen were selected to compete. Jean-Philippe began calling out the chefs chosen to compete. Lacey was the first of the sixteen called to compete.

During the Signature Dish Challenge, Lacey wanted to prove she was a hard worker and that she could hang with the big boys. She was the fifth person to have her dish judged by Ramsay and made a chicken and blackberry sauce dish. Ramsay asked her where it came from. She said it was from her workplace, a corporate dining buffet-style restaurant. Ramsay spat it out, claiming that somebody would come and eat it, but vomit straight after. Still, she said the dish was not her on a plate and hoped Ramsay gave her a chance to stick around and prove she could do better.

After the challenge, Ramsay asked both teams to decide on a team name for the opening night. Upon seeing the dorms, Lacey called them awesome and wished she could live in them forever. When Coi made some suggestions, they did not sit well with her as she called them stupid.

During prep, Lacey's attitude started to annoy her teammates when she did not want to be on a station until she knew where everyone else was. Also, her constant complaints while prepping did not help, annoying Andrea. She had no idea what to do and left during the middle of prep to go back up to the dorms, declaring she was quitting. That decision angered the women even more. Carol called it pathetic, and LA said that her lack of self-confidence was not winning them over. She decided to come back to the red kitchen, but LA was still disgusted with her decision to leave. When the teams were lined up, the women revealed their new team name, "Team Saffron." It was eventually changed to "Spice Racks" after a request from Colleen. Five minutes before service, Coi asked her for some help on the soufflés. But, the two argued about her leaving for most of the women's prep and not getting them prepped earlier. She did not like Coi's attitude, but the latter threatened to come after her if she was responsible for her elimination. Coi was angry that she did not set up her station compared to the others, but Andrea told her to calm down as they needed her. However, she said arguments happened every time she worked with women and started another fight with Coi. Ramsay saw what was happening, and Coi told him that the dessert station was doomed. Still, Ramsay had to defuse another argument and ordered them to get a grip.

During dinner service, Lacey was at the fish station. The first scallops she sent to the hot plate were raw, and she wondered if there was something wrong with the oven. Ramsay told her she did not have her gas on. The red team won the dinner service because of Carol's strong performance as a waitress. After elimination, she thought she did well on the line and told the doubters to kiss her ass.[1]

Episode 2[]

Main article: Episode 502 - 15 Chefs Compete

Coi apologized to Lacey for arguing with her before service back in the dorms. Still, she did mention how she let them down during prep by leaving the kitchen. She tried to say that she lacked her teammates' experience, but Coi accused her of giving up on them. LA told her that if she did not have confidence in her abilities, the women would not show confidence in her. LA wanted her gone from the team, and Coi told her to either get a grip or leave. While she admitted that she might be the weakest red chef and that it was more challenging than she thought, she did not want to quit.

The following day at 5:49 AM, a marching band came into the dorms and played loudly, and the chefs woke up. Sous Chefs Scott and Gloria ordered the chefs to get downstairs, and they were led outside to find Ramsay. Wanting both teams to learn how to respect their products, Ramsay had them go to their crates and gather all the scallops into their colored buckets. During the Scallop Cleaning Challenge, she called the cleaning the most disgusting thing she had ever done. When Ramsay revealed that she sliced one of her scallops three times, she had a shocked expression, which Ramsay mimicked. She could only get three of her six scallops accepted, and Carol called her a moron.

The red team lost the challenge 35-36, and they were punished by prepping a raw bar for the following night’s service. Ramsay asked Lacey if she cared due to her poor performance, but she claimed she did. However, Ramsay told her to prove it. Carol did not believe her as she thought she did not care about anything in Hell's Kitchen. Discouraged by their loss, she cried in her bed and thought about quitting the competition. Ji tried to comfort her and urged her not to give up, but she still felt she was not cut out for the competition. Some of the women thought she would not be joining them downstairs, which made LA believe she was giving up. When the woman got ready for punishment, she did not want to go as she claimed she was not feeling well. That infuriated Carol, who chewed her out for her attitude. Sous Chef Gloria asked where she was during the punishment, but Carol retorted that they were stronger without her. Three hours into their punishment, she was still absent, which continued to anger her teammates. Andrea accused her of isolating herself from the team due to her attitude and wondered if sleeping in would improve her mood. Six hours into the punishment, she decided to come downstairs and help as she was in Hell's Kitchen to compete. By the time she came downstairs, Paula was disgusted by her carefree attitude and abandoning the team. Andrea said everyone was against her now, thanks to the her attitude.

The following day, Lacey had a new attitude as she wanted to make a fresh start with prep. During prep, Ji noticed how lively she was compared to yesterday. During dinner service, she was at the meat station with Coi. When Colleen served overcooked scallops, Ramsay had her come over to show the former how to cook them while snarkily telling Colleen that she would not charge $300 for it. She felt honored to help Colleen out and sent over scallops that were cooked nicely. Ramsay showed Colleen the difference and snarkily asked the latter if she charged her for the lesson, but Colleen said she did not. After Colleen's failures at the fish station, Ramsay reassigned her to the fish station. Near the end of service, she was determined to send a man home that night.

The red team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, Lacey did not want to be nominated. Despite Coi acknowledging that she helped Colleen early that night, Carol still felt she was not fit to run a kitchen. She found that comment unfair, but Carol argued that her crying in bed and not helping with the punishment was unjust. Still, she asserted that she became a team player that night and thought Carol should be nominated for her mistakes in service.

Lacey was the second nominee from the red team, with Colleen being the first. During her plea, she admitted she had no confidence earlier, but she had it now and wanted to show the women she had it. Although Colleen said she was weak compared to her, she reminded the former that she had to take over fish to get entrées out. Despite not knowing too much, she felt she could do better. She survived elimination after Ji announced that she wished to quit, but she did give the former an emotional standing ovation, along with her teammates and the blue team. While being dismissed, she was happy for the second chance and thought to keep her mouth shut to succeed.[2]

Episode 3[]

Back at the dorms, Andrea told Lacey that she was only lucky to be around still and that she better prove herself. Still, she argued back and said Andrea had just turned on her bitch switch. However, Andrea retorted that she was hitting it every time. Andrea felt that she only shined when she wanted to and failed every other time. Andrea went as far as asking why she did not twist her ankle instead of Ji. Coi reminded her that they lost one of their strongest chefs that night, and Andrea and LA asked her if she deserved to stay. However, she got fed up and told her teammates to shut up.

The following morning, the Sous Chefs woke up the contestants at 6 AM with cowbells and told them to get dressed and out the front door to the SUVs. The barely awoke chefs were driven to an unknown place. After the Sous Chefs gave the chefs jackets and barf bags, Lacey asked what she would see if they offered barf bags on the trip. Once inside, it became clear they were at a meat processing plant. They saw different organs, blood, and cattle bodies all around the plant as they walked around. She got disgusted by the sight. When Sous Chef Scott showed the chefs where each cut of beef was located on the cow's body, she got cold and did not understand why he was giving them the lecture.

During the Meat & Cow Challenge, Lacey was the second person to attempt the cow part of the challenge. She wanted to show the women she deserved to stay, but Andrea saw her move things around just for it, which was no different from her performance in the kitchen. She scored six incorrect answers. The red team lost the challenge, and their punishment was to carry two large sides of beef and eat cow offal. Before the punishment, she called Robert a sweet person when he showed the red team his wedding shoes.

During the punishment, Lacey was exhausted after carrying just one side and felt the bones digging into her shoulder. She said the punishment sucked. While cutting the beef apart, she said she had never seen that amount of meat in her life. During lunch, she refused to eat her portions until Coi forced her. She ended up puking after eating. When the blue team made fun of the red team, she told them to go away.

During the Steakhouse double dinner service, the red team was assigned as waitresses for the first seating. When Jean-Philippe expressed annoyance over the late orders, Lacey argued that his pestering would not help her write faster. Later, she came back with one of her tables' salad for having anchovies in it. However, Ramsay reminded her that she wrote it on her ticket and called her Britney Spears and a jumped-up bitch when she was almost about to cry. She said this was why she did not wait tables. With only thirty minutes of the first service left, Jean-Philippe told her that she had forgotten to send one of her table tickets. She whined about never waiting tables before, but Jean-Philippe mocked her whining and sent her over to Ramsay. When Ramsay found out about it, he angrily shewed her away. During the second seating, she was at the dessert station. At one point, she said that if the women lost, Colleen deserved to go home after the latter struggled with reciting an order back to Ramsay. The red team won the dinner service, but she was named the worst waitress from the red team based on the customer comment cards.

After elimination, Lacey was delighted the women won as she could survive another day in hell.[3]

Episode 4[]

Main article: Episode 504 - 13 Chefs Compete

During the Football Team & Cheerleaders Breakfast Service Challenge, Lacey was at the scrambled egg station. She was not seen at all during the challenge. The red team won the challenge, and they were rewarded with a Beverly Hills-style camping experience. As the women went to change, she tripped in excitement. During the reward, she felt she was on cloud 9.

During dinner service, Lacey was at the appetizer station with Coi. She was not seen much, except when Andrea directed her and Coi on appetizers. Both teams were named joint losers, and they were asked to nominate two each. During deliberation, Carol stated that she would have screwed them up even worse if she had been on appetizers alone that night. She realized that the women were trying to find anything wrong with her to send her home.

Lacey was the second nominee of the red team, with Colleen as the first, and they joined Seth and Ben from the blue team. Ramsay was surprised by that announcement and asked her if someone was worse than her that night. She said Coi as her performance was worse than hers, but she was still called down. During her plea, she admitted that the first two days were rough, and she did think about quitting. However, she felt she was learning and believed she could grow. She survived elimination, and after Seth's elimination, she was transferred to the blue team. That dismayed the men and relieved the red team. While being dismissed, she said she would love to see the red team realize she was not the problem.[4]

Episode 5[]

Back at the dorms, Lacey tried to integrate herself with the blue team, but Ben was still shocked by the news as they had already gotten rid of a weak link. Ben bluntly told her that they were not looking for another Seth and felt Ramsay gave them another piece of dead weight. Still, she asked the blue team to give her a chance and then nominate her if she sucked. Robert tried to play nice, but he knew she was cancerous for the blue team. She promised that she would not cry on the blue team and felt the red team was ganging up on her. She called it a new day and said the red team was going down.

During the Asian Fusion Challenge, Lacey asked questions about the beef dish but got no answers. That made her feel it was the same as it was on the red team, but Ben said the blue team deemed her the new girl and did not trust her. She and Ben paired up on the seafood dish, but the latter's precise instructions caused her to call him egotistical. She offered to help her new teammates in the blue kitchen but found out she was being ignored and not needed. She did not like doing tedious jobs. They were the second pair from the blue team to have their dish judged and went up against the pair of Paula and LA from the red team. They made pan-seared scallops with a sea urchin and caviar Berblanc sauce. The dish was deemed too salty and mushy, and they lost that round to Paula and LA.

The blue team lost the challenge 1-2, and they were punished by making fortune cookies and decorating the entire dining room with origami. Lacey was upset as this was her third challenge loss and was near the breaking point. She said she wanted to leave at the patio, but that angered Giovanni and went on a tangent on how Seth never threatened to quit. Most of the men left the patio, but Ben stayed with her. Ben gave her a pep talk, urged her to have some more motivation to do well, and told her that the blue team needed her. However, she saw that Ben was trying to blow smoke up her ass, and it was everyone for themselves. During the punishment, she tried to make Ramsay impressions as the blue team made fortune cookies, but that annoyed everyone else. Robert could not understand why Ramsay put her on the blue team and said he hated her. Once the cookies were finished, the blue team moved on to origami folding. The men struggled to fold their paper, but she got the hang of it quickly. The men decided to follow her lead as she taught the men how to fold a bird. She was finally happy to teach someone a skill, and Giovanni was grateful to have her help them. When the drunk red team came by, she guaranteed the blue team that one of the red chefs would be leaving the following evening.

Before service, Lacey told Ramsay she was bonding with the men and said Ben was her main mentor. During dinner service, she was at the garnish station. She became very vocal on the blue team and called out times, which Giovanni believed she wanted to beat the red team that night. Ben and Giovanni were happy about this, and she refused to go home that night. Later, she asked for a time on the lamb, but J realized he had forgotten the order. She could not believe J had forgotten an order, and Ramsay called the latter terrible. Both teams were named joint losers, and Giovanni was named "Best of the Worst" for the blue team.

She was not nominated for elimination.[5]

Episode 6[]

The following morning, Ramsay told Lacey that she was starting to shine after the previous service and urged her not to stop. During the Bar Mitzvah Planning Challenge, Ben told her he had made upscaled Jewish food before. Later, she was seen tripping while carrying the cutting board. The blue team won the challenge 2-1, and they were rewarded with a trip to Skin Haven spa for a day of relaxation. During the reward, Ben told her that she deserved the reward based on Ramsay’s comments, and she said she was having more fun with the blue team than she did with the red team. When the blue team returned from their reward, she liked sticking it to her former team.

During the Bar Mitzvah dinner service, Lacey was at the meat station with Danny. She sent up her brisket in the blue kitchen, but it was stone cold. Ramsay reminded her that all she had to do was reheat the meat, and most of the team said it was not difficult. As Ramsay kept asking her for the beef, Robert tried to look for the old woman from the Wendy's commercial. The blue team won the service. After elimination, she called the red team a bunch of bitches, and she was happy they were focusing their anger on each other instead of herself.[6]

Episode 7[]

Main article: Episode 507 - 10 Chefs Compete

Before the Leftovers Challenge, Ramsay announced that a member of the blue team would move to the red team to even the numbers. Ramsay told Lacey that her performances have improved since she was on the blue team, while the red team lost the last two services. While Carol feared that Ramsay was putting her back on the red team, he said she would stay with the blue team. Instead, she said goodbye to Giovanni as the latter was reassigned to the red team. During the challenge, she struggled with an idea in the blue kitchen, whining she would not get any farther if she could not create an original dish. Ben gave her a few suggestions on what she could do, but Robert stated he was starting to lose patience with her. She was the second person from the blue team to have her dish judged by Ramsay, and she went up against LA. She made a mushroom bruschetta with balsamic vinegar. It had undercooked leeks, and Ramsay said they could hold a suspension bridge. She did not score that round.

The blue team lost the challenge 2-3, and they were punished by prepping both kitchens for that night’s service and polishing the tapa plates. During the punishment, Lacey stood around and did not do anything. She complained about the amount of work they had to complete and called it awful. When they got the tapa plates, she had no idea where to put them, despite Robert telling her to take them outside for polishing. She felt that nobody was treating her like an equal, while Ben annoyingly felt he was babysitting her. He told Lacey to get it together as it was Hell's Kitchen, not the afterschool daycare program. Then, Ben and Danny began riffing on her attitude. When the blue team went back to prepping the kitchens, J noticed that she had forgotten to take the paper off the tray before putting it in the oven. She and Robert got into an argument when the latter pointed it out, but Robert said he wanted to mentally Jedi choke her as he had enough. However, she got annoyed with Robert yelling at her, but J and Danny reminded her the latter was trying to help her. Afterwards, Robert wanted her to go home, but she told him to say it to her face instead of mumbling it. Then, she threatened to quit if she got into another argument with anyone, but Danny said that was the last thing they wanted. An unmoved J told her to go if she wanted, and he would do her work if she left. At the same time, Ben tried his best not to lose his temper as she stormed out of the kitchen. She had enough of being the donkey of the blue team and said the grand prize was not worth her deteriorating health. As the blue team continued to prep, Robert said she sucked and said she needed to go to a psychiatric ward for therapy. Despite being a fraction away from losing it, Ben decided to go to her as the blue team needed the extra hands. Ben asked her if she could brush the anger aside and help them, saying they needed her. However, she compared Ben's plea to how it was a few days ago and knew the latter only wanted her around to have equal numbers. However, she went back to the kitchen with Ben.

During dinner service, Lacey was at the garnish station. After it was revealed that J overcooked all the rice, she said the risotto was nasty and called it a poor start to the evening. Later that evening, Robert told her what was going on. The blue team lost the service, and each member was asked to nominate one teammate for elimination. During deliberation, she struggled to nominate someone as everyone else did not have problems. Still, Robert reminded her that her threat to quit during punishment was unacceptable. Robert said he was getting stressed over her attitude and reminded her that she left them at punishment, similar to how she did with the red team in an earlier punishment. Robert said she did not care about anyone other than herself and only cared when it was convenient for her own goals. She called Robert an asshole and wanted to nominate him for elimination in response. Robert told her he would become a crack whore if she won the competition.

When Ramsay asked the blue team who they each nominated, Lacey said her nominee was Robert as she did not get along with him. In turn, she received three votes from everyone else. Ramsay called her down to the front along with Ben. During her plea, she said she had come a long way since entering the competition, and she came to learn and grow as a person. She survived elimination, but Ramsay told her to start working together with the blue team. While being dismissed, she was happy to stay and said she did not care about anyone anymore.[7]

Episode 8[]

Main article: Episode 508 - 9 Chefs Compete

Back at the dorms, LA told Lacey she was lucky that Ramsay did not care about what happened in the dorms and questioned whether she was serious about being in the competition and becoming a head chef. She argued she was serious, but Robert told her she should be learning from people with more experience like himself instead of fighting with them as she did with the red team. However, she felt that everyone had turned on her and said she only cared about Ramsay's opinion.

Before the Blind Taste Test, Ramsay had the chefs taste some tartare he prepared, and Lacey said she had never had one before. She was the third person on the blue team to participate and went up against Carol. She only got sweet potatoes. The blue team lost the challenge 7-8, and they were punished by serving lunch to the red team and prepping both kitchens for that night’s dinner service. She did not like that as she did not want to wait on the red team. During the punishment, she got jealous as she wanted her hair done as she had a face for the magazine. When LA made a snarky comment toward her, she said she hated everyone in the room.

During prep, Ben asked Lacey what she was doing. She said she was still on the potatoes and grumpily asked if they wanted to stop her on anything again. That angered Ben as she was making him sick to his stomach. Robert asked her to move some dirty dishes out of the way, but she rudely said she will. Danny admitted he had no idea what went through her head as she should either cook or leave. When she started to complain more and more, Ben was close to putting her out of her misery. Before service began, Danny had to tell her where everything was at meat, believing she did not know where ass was from a hole in the ground.

During dinner service, Lacey was at the meat station. Ramsay warned her not to make him look stupid when the blue team began firing Eric McCormack's entrées. However, she whispered to Ben that she had no idea what she was doing on meat. Danny and Ben tried to calm her down, but the former did not like spoon-feeding her. When Ramsay asked for a time, Ben said they needed more time from her. She bluntly told Ramsay that she had no clue when her entrées would be ready, shocking the latter. Danny went over to try and help her, but a fire erupted, and Ramsay took the pan away. As she kept whining about not knowing what she was doing, Ben mocked her moaning in the confessionals. Ramsay demanded something from her, but she bluntly said she could not cook meat. Shocked by that, Ramsay kicked her out of the blue kitchen and into the pantry room. Ramsay was appalled by her confusion and asked why she did not say something. She said she tried but complained that Robert did something with the chicken, which caught on fire. However, Ramsay did not believe that and asked her if she could make an effort. She said she could, but Ramsay told her to get a grip. Once back in the kitchen, she told Ben that one of her Wellingtons on the rack was the well-done one. Despite secretly wanting her to go down in flames, Ben decided to help her but accidentally burned his finger on a hot pan.

Wanting to get Eric McCormack’s entrées out, Ramsay sent Ben back to the garnish station, much to Lacey's dismay. Danny was not happy to see her lose it as she kept saying she could not cook meat. When she said she needed three more minutes, Ramsay reminded her she had meat resting on her racks. However, she got annoyed that Ramsay was pestering her every thirty seconds. Eventually, she sent up the lamb for McCormack's table, but it was cut thinly. That was the final straw for Ramsay as he kicked her out of the kitchen, claiming that she was not good enough. She went into the pantry room, where Ramsay followed her and told her she could not waste any more of his time, making her time in the competition over. Lacey handed Ramsay her jacket and said goodbye to the blue team, but none of the men responded as Robert was relieved that she was finally gone. Then, she packed her belongings up in the dorms and left through the back loading area. During her exit interview, she said that while she was glad she could go back to her normal life and get enough sleep at night, she realized she did not have any positive moments during her stay due to her attitude.

Ramsay gave no comment on Lacey's elimination, and she did not receive the coat hanging and burning picture sequence.[8]

Episode 14/15[]

Main article: Episode 515 - Winner Announced

During the season recap, Lacey received the coat hanging and burning picture sequence for the first time since her elimination.

Lacey came back for the last dinner service of the season because Robert was unable to. When she came back into the kitchen, Ramsay reminded her how she got eliminated in the middle of the eighth service. She was Paula's last pick, following Andrea and LA, and the last pick overall.[9]

Back in the dorms, Paula, along with Andrea and LA, expressed concern that Lacey would exhibit the same poor attitude as she did before. While she promised her team she would try and behave, she was secretly upset by the fact that her team did not trust her. During prep, Paula gave her instructions on how to make the crème brulée, but managed to curdle the initial batch.

During dinner service, Lacey was on the appetizer and garnish stations. Her first scallop salad had overcooked scallops because of Andrea, but Ramsay chewed her out for trying to hide it from Paula. When she was on the garnish station, she got confused on orders for the garnishes and accused Paula of creating a menu too complicated for her to follow. Then, Ramsay told her to speed up, but she went back to her poor attitude, which led to her giving up until Paula sent LA over to help her out. When everyone called her for the spinach, it annoyed her and she said she had enough of getting yelled at. Paula eventually lost the finals to Danny.[10]
