Main article: Episode 1001 - 18 Chefs Compete

The eighteen chefs arrived in Hell's Kitchen via SUVs and police escort, and as they walked in, Sous Chef Scott told the chefs he shaved his head to prove his commitment to Ramsay and showed a picture of him with a full head of hair, before deciding to shave the chefs' heads. While Justin doubted that Sous Chef Andi would have her head shaved, the latter showed everybody that she already did it herself. After two chefs got their heads shaved, really Sous Chef Scott's friends, the latter was about to shave Danielle's head until Ramsay stopped him and told her to get back in line. He told the chefs to get in the kitchens to cook their signature dishes.

During the Signature Dish Challenge, Justin was the fourth person from the blue team to have his dish judged by Ramsay, and went up against Danielle. He made an unknown dish, it was praised for its seasoning, and he won that round over Danielle. The blue team eventually lost the challenge 3-5, and they were punished by cleaning up both kitchens.

During dinner service, Justin was on the fish station with Clemenza. Despite trying to serve out anything, he sent up raw scallops, and then, Ramsay saw broken pieces on the fish station, before asking him who sliced them as he felt he was sabotaged. It was then when Tavon revealed he was the one who cut the scallops poorly. After too many mistakes, the blue team was kicked out of the kitchen, he felt very embarrassed, and said that anybody on the line who did not did not deserve to be in any kitchen. The blue team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination.

He was not nominated for elimination.[1]

During the Scallop Challenge, Justin was not seen during the scallop collecting, he refused to lose again, and was paired up with Brian. When the men had no dishes on the board, he decided to send up his and Brian’s attempt for the hell of it, but it was rejected for having poorly cut scallops as Ramsay felt they looked more like rectangles than circles. The blue team lost the challenge 2-6, and they were punished by cleaning up the ice from the front entrance, prepping prawns for the following night’s service, and drinking a scallop shake.

During dinner service, Justin was on the meat station. When Chris struggled on scallops, he said they could not keep messing up on scallops before deciding to help fish. Then, despite making perfectly cooked Wellingtons, he was forced to take them back due to Chris' raw opah. Later, he brought up overcooked steak, which got the blue team kicked out the kitchen. Both teams were named joint losers, and they were asked to nominate two each. During deliberation, he accused Chris of fucking him over that night, and considered Don for elimination for struggling on the pizzas.

When the red team was sent in to help out, he wanted nobody else to help him, but Christina said that it was no longer a challenge and that they had to serve the immigrants. The blue team lost the challenge, and they were punished with hard labor at Ballona Wetlands. During the punishment, he was proud of how they came together and got the job done.

During the Creative Lamb Challenge, Justin was seen grabbing potatoes. He was paired up with Guy on the rack of lamb, and they were still seen discussing ideas. They were the third pair from the blue team to have their dish be judged by Ramsay, and went up against Robyn and Barbie. He presented their grilled rack of lamb with roasted garlic and basil purée and turnip three ways, and after tasting it, Ramsay said that it worked, and they won that round over Robyn and Barbie. The blue team won 3-2 and were rewarded with a VIP trip to the Hollywood Park racetrack, and when Clemenza asked for some cash to gamble, Ramsay gave them $100 to use and asked them not to spend it on hot dogs. During the reward, he said he did not want to send somebody home that night, and Patrick agreed as he wanted to stay focused that night.

During dinner service, Justin was on the appetizer station with Clemenza. At one point, he told the men to let him and Brian talk for appetizers, which Ramsay liked. Per Ramsay’s instruction, he went over to fish and saw that Brian burned the refire. When Brian got kicked out of the kitchen, he took over the fish station and got his sea bass accepted. Two hours into dinner service, Ramsay ordered the men for two sea bass immediately, but for some reason, both him and Royce were cooking fish. Infuriated by that, Ramsay kicked both him and Royce out of the kitchen, and he knew he got kicked out because Ramsay was fed up with the latest mistake. Both teams were named joint losers and were asked to nominate two people each.

He made a pickled shrimp tortilla soup, and while it was praised for tasting good, he lost that round to Tiffany. During the Mexican Night dinner service, Justin was on the appetizer station with Clemenza. At one point, he decided to walk the pork up despite Clemenza’s protest, and sure enough, it was raw, and it led to Ramsay kicking the two men out of the kitchen. Before the Fashion Night Planning Challenge, Justin said that Asian fusion did not excite him as much as the models did. He was paired up with Brian on the appetizer dish, and during the cooking, he discussed a lobster medallion dish. They were the first pair from the blue team to have their dish judged, and went up against the pair of Christina and Dana. He presented their seasonal bean salad with lobster and fennel foam, but the presentation was immediately criticized for being unappealing, especially with the foam component as Ramsay compared it to regurgitated vomit, while Patrick himself commented that he would never do a foam component. However, he did not like the judge’s criticism and asked if they never saw foam before, while the taste itself was criticized for a sweet foam and a bland taste overall. They lost that round to the pair of Dana and Christina, but the blue team eventually won the challenge 2-1. They were rewarded with a $1000 shopping spree at the M. Fredric boutique along with a wine tasting excursion at the Rosenthal Estate. During the reward, he loved shopping, especially as it was not his money to spend it on. At the wine tasting, he and Guy got annoyed by Patrick's explanation on the wine as they wanted to enjoy themselves.

During prep, Justin did not see the big deal of Clemenza’s dish as the puttanesca sauce was just a simple tomato sauce. Before service began, Clemenza decided to cook four portions of scallops before the doors had open, and he asked the latter what the fuck he was doing.[6] During the Fashion Night dinner service, he was on the appetizer station with Roshni. At one point, he, Roshni, and Clemenza got their first dishes of appetizers accepted, and during the second fashion show, he asked how the fuck could he work with the show going on. When Clemenza was struggling to find a tray for the refire, he called him a lost cat. The blue team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, he felt defeated, felt the blue team was strong with their bounce back, but felt the red team were better than them that night. Later, he considered Guy as the blue team’s second nominee, and Patrick agreed to that.

Justin was not nominated for elimination, and when Ramsay asked him who should go home, he said Clemenza.[7]

Episode 8[]

During the Dome Challenge, Justin grabbed monkfish, lasagna sheets, heirloom tomatoes, and quail eggs for his dish. During the cooking, he was happy with his monkfish and decided to make a monkfish ravioli with his lasagna sheets as he wanted to make a ballsy move, which Ramsay deemed adventurous. After the guest judges were revealed, he felt an amazing thing despite not normally getting excited for special judges. He was the first person from the blue team to have his dish judged and went up against Tiffany. He made a five-spiced roasted monkfish and chive ravioli with roasted quail egg and heirloom tomato salad, it was praised for looking beautiful, tasting nice, and overall, it surprisingly worked. So, he scored 6 stars. The blue team eventually lost the challenge 29-30, and they were punished by cleaning up the dorms and prepping for that night’s dinner service

During dinner service, Justin was on the dessert station and hosted Tito Ortiz at the chef's table, even though he called it nerve-wracking, before hoping the blue team did not look like idiots. After Clemenza sent up chewy pasta, he said he never saw somebody fuck anything up so badly. Later, he welcomed Ortiz and admitted being nervous as he never waited on somebody before. After multiple mistakes, Ramsay kicked the blue team out of the kitchen, despite himself begging to stay. Back at the dorms, he felt Ramsay was mad that night. The blue team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination.

Justin was not nominated for elimination, and when Ramsay asked him who should go home, he said Roshni.[8]

Episode 9/10[]

The next day, Justin was one of the chefs that listened to Kimmie's rap. During the Creative Steak Challenge, he went up against Tiffany, and their ingredients were filet, beets, carrots, zucchini, and chorizo. That dismayed him has he had terrible luck due to having two sweet vegetables, a boring vegetable, and asked what the fuck he was going to do. During the cooking, he had no idea what he was doing with his ingredients but wanted to show Ramsay what he could do. Later, he felt Clemenza was moving too slow to his liking, and feared that the rib eye was raw. He was the first person from the red team to have his dish judged, presented his filet with truffle smashed beets, glazed carrots, chorizo cream sauce, and a chorizo zucchini cake, before expressing nervousness over the choice of ingredients and hoped Ramsay liked his creativity. The dish was praised for having the smokiness of the chorizo coming through and having the beets taste very good, with the only problem being that Ramsay wanted to eat more. He scored that round over Tiffany, and before heading back, Ramsay told him that it was the best dish he tasted from him so far, making him feel good to receive a compliment from a chef of Ramsay’s caliber. The blue team won the challenge 3-2, and they were rewarded with a shopping spree at Sur la Table and lunch at Comme Ca. During the reward, he took notice of Clemenza's purchases.

The next day, Justin was one of the chefs who listened to Robyn's rant about the red team. During prep, he was nervous as Ramsay was opening a steakhouse, and wanted Steak Night to be on point. So, he tried to take the lead for the men on prep, but Brian felt he needed to relax, and Clemenza felt he was micromanaging everybody, before telling him to shut up unless he needed help. Before service began, Ramsay told him that because his dish was the best of the previous challenge, his filet mignon dish was added on the menu, making him feel honored.[9]

During the Family-Steak Night dinner service, Justin was on the appetizer station with Brian. When Brian tried to lighten the mood by joking around and doing silly voices, he annoyingly told the former to shut the fuck up as he did not find it funny. When Patrick was briefly kicked out of the kitchen, he took over the meat, and when the former sent up a raw filet, he confirmed that it was not the same dish served to Ramsay the day before. After Patrick was kicked out, he took over the meat, and got his attempts accepted. Eventually, he, Brian, and Clemenza were the only men left in the kitchen, and Ramsay asked them to help out the red team. When the red team's arguments did not quell, he told the women to watch their language for the kids. When the red team was kicked out of the kitchen, the three men were left to complete their tickets. Both teams were named joint losers, and they were asked to nominate two each.

Justin was not nominated for elimination, and after Patrick's elimination, he welcomed Robyn as a new teammate.[10]

Episode 11[]

Back at the dorms, Justin did not want any yelling or controversy coming from Robyn despite the latter promising not to backstab anybody.

During the Craps Challenge, Justin rolled a D and picked daikon, much to Clemenza’s dismay. During the cooking, he was not confident their chicken was properly rested when Royce sliced the chicken. He presented their charred chicken roulade with dragon fruit vinaigrette, edamame purée, and daikon-dragon fruit sushi roll. Ramsay praised the sushi roll for tasting delicious, the purée for being nailed despite being a tough one to pull off but criticized the chicken for tasting dry due to Royce’s decision to slice the chicken too early. The blue team won the challenge, and they were rewarded with a day in Las Vegas, staying in the Paris Hotel in a high roller’s suite above the prized restaurant Gordon Ramsay Steak.

During dinner service, Justin was on the appetizer station with Robyn. After Clemenza sent up scallops that were not properly drained, he deemed it unacceptable at this stage of the competition. When Royce sent up dry pork, he was losing it as the former worked in a steakhouse and should know better. Eventually, the red team was sent to help the blue team out with their remaining tickets. The blue team lost the service and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination.

He was not nominated for elimination.[11]

Back at the dorms, Justin reminded Tiffany that when the blue team came over into the red kitchen, they did not push the women out of their stations, but she ignored him, leading him to call her out of her mind.

Although Justin did not volunteer, he was forced into the Wing Eating Challenge, and was one of the four chefs to compete against Joey Chestnut for $500. When Ramsay took notice of his miserable look, the latter said he could not eat that fast without choking. After seeing Chestnut, he said there was no chance in hell he could beat the former. Eventually, Chestnut won as the chefs only had seven wings left. During the Blind Taste Test, he was the final person from the blue team to compete and went up against Dana. He got scallops, fig, radish, and sunchoke, giving him a perfect run. The blue team won the challenge 7-6, and after the challenge, Ramsay was impressed that he scored the first perfect run in the challenge’s history, Robyn called it awesome, while a sore Dana accused him of cheating. The blue team was rewarded with a day at Raging Waters with the whole park to themselves, and he was happy to get a tan. During the reward, he was happy about being out on a beautiful day.

Later that day, a truck horn blared, annoying Tiffany as she thought the red team was done with delivery day. However, Barbie opened the box to reveal a tablet, and after pressing play, it opened a prerecorded message from Ramsay. Then, Ramsay announced that he was giving both teams a chance to have their own menus for the following night’s service, and gave them one hour to create a menu with three appetizers, three entrées, and three desserts. Robyn and Justin were not on the same page for their menu items as he felt the former’s ideas were too difficult and even felt Robyn’s ideas were coming from a deli. Then, he and Brian were agreeing on their idea, but Clemenza felt they were running the blue team. After time was up, he felt that the blue team’s dishes were not too complicated, but they would be in big trouble if nobody could execute them. During prep, he got dismayed when Clemenza dirtied his jacket.[12] After the blue team received their menu review, he was worried as they had to fix up most of their items but refused to believe the red team was better than them, and the only way the would lose was if they could not get their shit together.

During dinner service, Justin was on the meat station, and had both his scallop stuffed squash blossom and steak and fried onions on the menu. When Robyn accused him of never telling her how long to cook the blossoms, he argued that she should have touched them for a temperature and asked where the thought process was. However, Robyn still blamed him as he told her what to do and she was still screwing up, before sending an overcooked refire that was boiled to fuck. While Robyn asked him to help her make some new blossoms, he refused to as it was her station. Later, Robyn revealed that she had no more scallops to use for the dish, before blaming him for not making enough for service, but he argued that he prepped at least 20 orders for that night, and blamed Robyn for fucking them up. On entrées, he was more vocal than ever, but Clemenza did not respond to his timings. That made him very nervous, along with Clemenza’s slow movement, but the latter said he did not need to be talked at as he got his halibut accepted. However, Clemenza got confused about what was coming out next just when he told him, but while he was annoyed by that, the former argued that it was hard to listen due to his yelling. After Clemenza was caught forgetting a sea bass order, he refused to lose, ordered Clemenza to help Robyn on desserts and have Brian cook the fish. While he continued to lead the blue team, one of his steaks were medium-well, pissing himself off as he did not want to make a mistake. Then, Robyn said that while he called himself a big fancy head honcho, he failed that night as the latter had a meltdown on timings, leading Clemenza to tell him to take responsibility for his actions throughout the night. Eventually, the blue team got kicked out of the kitchen after multiple mistakes, and back at the dorms, he and Clemenza argued over the fish problem as he felt he did nothing wrong.

Both teams were named joint losers, and they were asked to nominate two each. During deliberation, Justin considered Robyn for elimination, but she nominated him due to setting her up for failure despite it being his dish. However, he argued that it was Robyn’s fault for failing on the squash blossoms and accused her of not taking responsibility for her mistakes. Then, the argument became about the size of the blossoms, which only intensified when he accused Robyn and Clemenza of not caring. After, he considered Clemenza for elimination.

Justin was not nominated for elimination, but when Robyn revealed she asked him for help, he argued he was not going to spoon-feed her, which led to a short argument as he did not want the turmoil in the blue team anymore. While being dismissed, he said that Robyn’s presence was causing more fights to occur in the blue team and wanted her gone.[13]

Episode 14[]

During the Southern Cuisine Challenge, Justin went up against Christina, and their dishes were fried chicken and mac and cheese. During the cooking, he said he never made fried chicken in his life, so he had his work cut out. He was the third person from the blue team to have his dish judged and presented his buttermilk fried chicken with lobster mac and cheese. It was praised for having a big wow factor, and he scored that round over Christina. The blue team eventually lost the challenge 1-3, and they were punished by prepping for Southern Night which included baking fresh bread and churning butter. During the punishment, he swore he would never hand make butter ever again because it sucked, and his arm was hurting. Later, he got frustrated when Clemenza was snacking on their bread.

During the Southern Night dinner service, Justin was on the appetizer station. He was not seen much, except for arguing with Clemenza over refiring the items as he did not want a full explanation, and the blue team got kicked out of the kitchen after multiple mistakes. Back at the dorms, he and Clemenza accused Robyn of being all over the place that night. Both teams were named joint losers, and they were asked to nominate one each. During deliberation, he called that night’s service disgusting due to dumb mistakes and had to find the weakest link before reminding Robyn about her raw chicken.

He was not nominated for elimination.[14]

Episode 15[]

During the Relay Challenge, Justin went up twice for the blue team and started the challenge for them. On round one, he wanted to get things ready for Clemenza but noticed the risotto was not ready yet, so he put the ingredients next to the stove in the hopes somebody would start it for him. On round five, he did not get a good briefing from Robyn, whom he called useless, but after his round ended, he did not give Clemenza a good briefing due to speaking fast. When Ramsay criticized the blue team's risotto for tasting crunchy, Clemenza blamed him for not starting it. As neither team scored a point on either dish, Ramsay named both teams joint losers in a team challenge. Everybody was punished by cleaning up the front of the restaurant and detailing the SUVs. During the punishment, James showed both teams convertible that would have driven one team to the supposed reward, and he dismayingly imagined what could have been.

During dinner service, Justin was on the fish station. When Clemenza had to cook five risottos for a six top, he felt that it was too much for one person and offered to help the former out, but Clemenza rejected it. After Robyn blamed the men for telling her to use the oven as a holding oven, he, who never lost his shit before, got aggravated and called her a fucking idiot for lying to Ramsay and making him look bad before telling Robyn to own up to her mistakes. Despite Clemenza trying to get the blue team reorganized, he and Robyn continued to argue with the latter claiming things were done differently in the red team, and him suggesting that she go back to her old teammates, all while a dismayed Ramsay watched. When the blue team sent up their refire, Ramsay discovered that he sent up the sea bass that was cooked five minutes ago, meaning it was now dry, and Robyn found it funny despite being told off. While he knew it was not his best, Ramsay asked him why he did not cook a fresh sea bass for the refire, even after a flare-up distracted him, and he admitted it was a dumb mistake.

The blue team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, Justin called it a bad day for the blue team as Robyn called him a liar, while he called her a seventh-grader due to her attitude. He was considered for elimination by Robyn, but he considered her and Clemenza for elimination.

Justin was not nominated for elimination, but because the blue team could not decide between Brian and Clemenza, Ramsay decided to call the entire team down. During his plea, he said he has been really focused and pushed himself through levels he never thought of. After listening to their pleas, Ramsay asked both him and Clemenza to take off their jacket, only to give them black jackets due to their performances throughout the competition, therefore surviving elimination.[15]

Episode 16[]

Main article: Episode 1016 - 6 Chefs Compete

Back at the dorms, Clemenza and Justin talked about their wild ride so far as they knocked out two-thirds of the competition, and both agreed it was time to go for the jugular. Then, he said the stakes were higher than ever and proclaimed that the best of himself had yet to show. The next day, he was ready to find out what the challenge would be.

During the Taste It Now Make It Challenge, Justin was paired up with Barbie, and said he has been waiting for that challenge to occur. They used veal, serrano ham, white bean, bacon, and port wine in order to recreate Ramsay's dish. During the cooking, he wanted to use dark chicken broth, but Barbie pushed him to use port wine instead due to a tart taste. They were the second pair to have their dish judged, and while he was confident that it was 100% correct, he was shaking in his boots due to how close all the dishes were to each other. While they got the meat and purée correct, the did not get the wrapping and sauce correct.

Justin lost the challenge to the pair of Dana and Clemenza, and was punished with doing the waiting staff’s chores which included redoing the tabletops, ironing and folding the linen, and polishing the silverware which were all done under James’ supervision. After hearing the reward, he was bummed as he called wave runners his shit. During the punishment, he asked if his mother was there to iron, but James told him that he was doing it himself despite the fact he never ironed before. Refusing to iron as it was degrading, he instead cleaned the fish tank, only to be caught by James who gave him both his own shirts and Ramsay’s jackets to iron, leaving him more embarrassed. When Dana and Clemenza came back from their reward, the former teased him by asking if he could iron her dress next.

Before service began, Ramsay announced that the black jackets would be competing against a team of runner ups. When Russell believed they were there to whip the black jackets assess that night and that somebody was going home, Justin retorted that it would be the runner ups who were going home like before. During dinner service, he was on the garnish station. He was not seen much but did not express confidence in Clemenza’s abilities to cook scallops, and his fears came true as the latter sent up boiled scallops. The black jackets lost the service to the runner ups, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination.

He was not nominated for elimination.[16]

Episode 17[]

Main article: Episode 1017 - 5 Chefs Compete

Back at the dorms, Justin said he had never been happier to see somebody go home, but when he added on that he did not want to work with Robyn for a while, Dana pointed out that the men now knew what the red team had to go through with Robyn. Then, he felt there was some strong competition in the final five and that he himself had to step it up.

After Ramsay gave the chefs his chicken parmesan recipe, Justin asked what the former had in store. During the Cooking School Challenge, he was amped and called the Ms. Teen USA winners stunning before claiming he was not thinking anything wrong. He was paired up with Ms. Teen USA Kamie Crawford of 2010, but he had no idea the latter had an entire chicken to break down, even fearing she would cut her finger off. They were the second pair to have their dish judged, their dish was praised for an impactful presentation, and a delicious sauce, but criticized for having a thick chicken.

Justin lost the challenge to Barbie, but the latter picked him to come on her reward. They were rewarded with an Italian inspired day which included lunch at Ado Ristorante and kayaking along the Venice canal. While Justin was surprised Barbie picked him for the reward, he felt they have bonded over the last couple of days. During the reward, he called Ramsay’s convertible sick, and during lunch, Antonio Mure presented the two with the restaurant’s signature pasta dish, with the two thoroughly enjoying it. During the kayaking trip, they looked at the houses on the canal, with him feeling very relaxed and said that it was better than making pasta. When the two came back from their reward, they irked the chefs with their description of their reward. Then, they announced they would make dinner for everybody as he felt bad for them, and ended up making spaghetti. However, Dana and Christina were not thrilled about what they made pasta for the last six hours, Clemenza spat out his bite, and he got insulted as he hoped they would have at least enjoyed it.

During the Italian Night dinner service, Justin was at the fish station. After Barbie sent up a risotto that had raw wine, no salt, and hard as a rock, he called it inexcusable as she cooked risottos in her life. Then, he decided to take the lead in the kitchen as he refused to have Ramsay shut service down, and their first order of entrées was accepted. After Christina sent up burnt and bland spinach, he knew Ramsay was big on that. On the final order of appetizers, Barbie was slow on cooking her final risotto, Clemenza picked the shrimp slowly, and he called it the most difficult thing he ever saw as there was a table waiting for food for a long time.

After service, Ramsay asked the final five to nominate one person for elimination. During deliberation, Clemenza told Justin that Barbie was the worst performer of that night as she had to instruct her on the risottos every time and was not being heard, and while he admitted that the former had the point, he still wanted Clemenza gone as he was sick of cleaning up his messes. In the living room, he asked Barbie what happened, felt that calling her out was very petty even though she bombed that night, and he called Clemenza a mess.

Justin was not nominated for elimination, although he had to reveal to Ramsay that they failed to reach a consensus on a nominee. While being dismissed, he said that there were only three people in his way, and was really focused. Back at the dorms, Dana noticed a note, and he read it out as Ramsay told the four that the best was yet to come. After, mysterious people came to them, much to everyone’s shock and excitement, and the episode ended in a cliffhanger.[17]

Episode 18[]

Main article: Episode 1018 - 4 Chefs Compete

Continuing from the previous episode, Justin received a visit from his parents, and as he reconnected with them, he started to show more emotion after being stone-faced for most of the competition. After the loved ones left, he called it the most emotional experiences of his life. The next day, the final four were driven to a local grocery store, and he knew that anything could happen in the final four.

During the Budget Challenge, Justin bought cheap seasonal ingredients along with some colossal shrimp. Eventually, everybody was able to buy their ingredients in the time limit, but while the women were able to maintain their budget, he was 77 cents over his budget. Dismayed by that, along with the fact Sous Chef Scott refused to help him, he was forced to give up his avocado to bring his budget down. During the cooking, although he did not have a clear idea of what he was cooking, he was excited and calm like he was in every challenge. He was the first person to have his dish judged, felt confident about his bold flavors, and presented his roasted corn and mango salsa on top of chili shrimp. While the dish was praised for being nice and crispy, it was criticized for a lack of liveliness with David Lefevre noting that the dish needed lime juice to have the textures explode in their mouths. After, he scored a $28.33 average, although he felt the dish should have received more dollars. After Barbie scored more than him, he was hurt and irked that he lost to a pork chop.

Justin lost the challenge to Dana, and was punished by separating all the trash the restaurant accumulated for recycling purposes. During the punishment, he called it both horrifying and gross to see all the food they wasted throughout the competition and felt he was going to throw up due to the putrid smell, but Barbie was used to the smell as she did compost every Friday and told him to get over it. Later, he nearly puked over the sight of maggots in the trash, but Barbie told him to do it in the organic bin, and Christina called him the baby of the group that day as the last thing she wanted was him to puke over things they had to sort through.

During prep, both Justin and Christina felt they still smelled like garbage despite showering before. During dinner service, he was on the appetizer station. After he and Christina got their first order of appetizers accepted before Ramsay had him run the hot plate first. After reading out his ticket, he said that he only cared about driving the food out and make sure everything was done properly. While he got off to a strong start, Sous Chef Scott began the first quality test by putting crab in the lobster spaghetti, but he was able to catch that mistake after a quick taste and earned praise from Ramsay. Now on David Hoenemeyer’s table, he called out the order, but everybody but Dana responded as the latter felt he was annoying, but he got irked when she was dragging fish as it meant she did not care. While most of the entrées were on the pass, he was still waiting on Dana’s sea bass, but she retorted that it would be ready when it was ready. Despite that, Dana got her sea bass out and allowing Hoenemeyer’s table to receive their entrées. On Dana's turn, he sent up risottos that Ramsay sabotaged by adding sugar. On Barbie's turn, she rejected his risotto for having too much white wine, but he did not talk to Dana about the refire until after he sent it up until Barbie ordered the two to work together as she called it a train wreck. After service, Ramsay asked the final four to think about who should stay, and who should go home. During deliberation, he reminded Dana how she dragged on the very first ticket he was on the pass.

At elimination, Ramsay asked the final four why they should stay. Justin said that he worked 150% of his stay and that he learned to drop his ego at the door. After Barbie's elimination, Ramsay admitted that it was now hard to pick two out of the three remaining chefs as there was a fraction of difference between them and that he could see anyone of them in the finale. Just before Ramsay could announce who the first finalist was, the episode ended in a cliffhanger.[18]

Continuing from the previous episode, Justin was named the second finalist, with Christina as the first. After Dana left, Ramsay congratulated the finalists, and after reminding the two that one of them would become the head chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak, Ramsay warned them that their next 48 hours would be difficult before telling them to come up with a winning menu with four appetizers, four entrées, and three desserts. While going back to the dorms, he was shocked that he made it to the final two over sixteen other chefs and that he had one more person to beat to win. After the two celebrated with champagne, they went straight to work on their menus as he hoped his father would be proud of him as in the past, he did not think he was cut out to become a chef. The next day, the final two woke up, and Ramsay called the dorms, asking the two to be at his office, making Christina nervous as they had a lot of work. At his office, Ramsay told the two that while it was important they each went through their menu items with the Sous Chefs, Andi and Scott were not at Hell’s Kitchen, dismaying him as it was a blow to the stomach. Instead, Andi and Scott were waiting for them at Las Vegas, surprising the two as Ramsay wanted their meetings poolside in private cabanas. That made him happy as he wanted a day of relaxing.

After a quick pack up, the final two met Ramsay on board their private jet. When Ramsay told the two to enjoy themselves after their long journey, he said it meant a lot to get one due to his journey as he was very focused since the start, became more confident after every challenge, and felt he found his voice. Before landing, Ramsay asked the two who would win, and they said themselves. Arriving at Las Vegas, he and Christina headed down to the Paris Hotel for some hand massages until the Sous Chefs arrived. However, he felt awkward to be sitting in a robe while Sous Chef Scott was in his chef jacket, although the latter was happy the former was wearing shorts. After the Sous Chefs went through the menu items with the final two, Ramsay gave them one last surprise in the form of their loved ones, his parents, and was excited after figuring out it was not a mirage. Before leaving, Ramsay said he had arranged for VIP tickets at a Vegas show for everybody, and as everybody relaxed, he felt his parents were very proud of making if far in both the industry and the competition. Later that night, the final two and their loved ones met up with Ramsay to see the show, revealed that they would be watching Penn and Teller, although he knew that there was no time to relax as Ramsay always had a trick of his sleeves. One of the tricks Penn and Teller did was the classic body saw trick, and afterward, it was revealed that Ramsay served as the legs. After, Ramsay turned the spotlight on him and Christina as it was time for their final challenge, although he called Ramsay out of his mind.

During the Final Menu Challenge, Justin deemed a point of no return, went balls to the wall, and made a salad with different techniques. Then, he felt his ribeye dish was his strongest dish. On the salad round, he was shocked Francois Payard was going to eat his dish, even comparing it to a high school basketball player meeting Michael Jordan as he presented his charred heirloom tomato salad with feta cheese crumble, compressed watermelon, and Banyuls vinaigrette. Payard praised the dish for being fresh and a nice summer salad, and he scored that round. On the seafood appetizer round, he made an Ecuadorian-styled ceviche with poached shrimp, it was praised for being delicious, and he scored that round. After, he said he was going to make a clean sweep because if he got one more round, the challenge would end in his favor. On the fish entrée round, he made a Dover sole meunière with duck fat fingerling potatoes and wild asparagus topped with olive oil and lemon juice, but while it was praised for the flavors, it was criticized for having an overcooked fish, and he lost to Christina. On the ribeye round, he arrogantly felt Christina's dish was too old school before presenting his charred Piedmontese ribeye with Anson Mill grits and beer-battered onion rings. However, while Gillies praised the combination of the flavors, he lost that round to Christina. Before the filet round, he shocked in disbelief after seeing Wolfgang Puck as everybody knew who the former was. He made a charred filet mignon with butter-poached lobster and glazed carrot jus, and while it was praised for the charred component, he lost that round to Christina. He lost the challenge 2-3 but warned Christina to watch out as he was more determined than ever.

Returning to the airport, Ramsay announced that there was one more thing they had to do before returning to Hell’s Kitchen. As the private jet’s doors lowered behind Ramsay, he announced it was time to pick their brigade as eight former chefs from that season returned, and Justin was getting into the zone as he did not want to pick somebody who was tired. Because he lost the previous challenge, he was forced to have the final pick. For his first two picks, he picked Barbie and Brian. After a tough decision, he named Royce as his third pick due to the latter’s hunger as he was not smiling, and felt Royce needed to prove something. When Christina had to make her final pick, he was getting nervous as he might get Robyn, and did not want the drama. Ultimately, he was left with Clemenza.

Returning to Hell’s Kitchen, Christina and Justin took their brigades to different spots at the dorms, and he knew he had a lot to talk about to his team as it was his life on his hands. He went over the menu items as well, but Clemenza did not listen to him, much to his frustration. While he wanted Clemenza to understand that it was his life on the line, the latter got insulted when he felt he was discrediting his work and did not have anything he had to prove, while Brian called Clemenza dead weight. Eventually, he frustratingly told Clemenza to leave if he did not want to perform in the final service, and just as the latter was about to leave, he managed to stop him, told him that he did focus in his own way, but wanted him locked down.[19] Despite Clemenza being pissed that he was not in the final two, he did not want to leave and told him how he felt he could have gone a step further if he did not get eliminated. However, he told Clemenza that they were past that now, but the latter felt he could do it and hoped for him to win as he himself wanted him to surprise him during service.

The next day, Justin admitted to being excited for that night but was still worried about Clemenza after last night's meeting. He gathered his team for a quick briefing, but Royce noticed that Clemenza was not around, so he came to get him as he wanted him to get focus and motivated. As both teams went into their kitchens for prepping, he was focused, gave out orders to his team, and wanted to make sure his dishes were correct. As both teams cooked sample dishes for Ramsay’s approval, he discovered a smoking oven from Clemenza’s station, revealing that the crostini burnt. That horrified both Brian and Barbie as he called it a disaster, and pushed a slow Clemenza to get the refire up, before accusing him of breaking down. To his relief, Clemenza got the refires ready thanks to Brian’s help as the latter was willing to fight tooth and nail for him. Afterwards, Ramsay looked at the finalists’ menu items. For himself, Ramsay found the sambuca cured wild salmon over salted from the olives, the cod dish looked a mess while still tasting good, and found the ribeye delicious. Afterwards, he gathered his team to look over some refinements but found Ramsay’s critiques helpful as he strongly believed his menu would win him Hell’s Kitchen. Before service, he reassured his team that he knew they could cook, and wanted to crush it.

During dinner service, Justin got barely a response from his team after calling out his first order until he repeated it multiple times. Twenty-five minutes into service, Royce forgot the sauce for the crab cakes, and he discovered they were cold in the middle. Feeling that Royce was not moving fast enough, he tried to push his team, but Royce’s refire was dry, and a miffed Ramsay ordered him to wake up as it was their first ticket. So, he ordered Brian to help Royce out, but the latter did not like how he freaked out over one mistake as it was not helping anybody. As he kept ordering Royce to get it done, the latter mocked him in the confessional before getting his third attempt accepted, and called himself the Rolls Royce. Then, he wanted to begin entrées but was interrupted by Clemenza when he was trying to call out the order. After calling Clemenza a disaster, he and Ramsay discovered that the salmon was all raw, with the latter calling it ridiculous and even accused Clemenza of sabotaging him. While he said life could be a dick, Clemenza knew he had to step up his game in the back seat, and got his refire accepted. Later, one customer’s cod entrée was sent back for being cold. Frustrated, he decided to be on his team’s case even further and order Royce to get the refire out immediately, but the latter argued that he should have checked it more carefully like an Executive Chef. Then, he did everything he could to keep the mistakes inside the kitchen by rejecting Royce’s fish and Brian’s garnish for taste factor and needing more salt respectively, but that also meant no food was leaving. That frustrated him as he could not go and do the work himself, before rejecting Barbie’s ribeye for being overcooked. While Barbie got her refire accepted and blue diners were receiving their orders, on their final ticket, she sent up overcooked ribeye again, he frustratingly said she was better than that, and she was confused as to why her meat was overcooking on her. As he felt his dreams were sinking, Barbie yet again sent up poor ribeyes, and announced she did not have enough portions for the two on order, much to Brian’s shock, and Royce told her to tell him. When she did, he was dismayed by that. As he told James to offer the table filets as a replacement, Barbie knew how much on the line was for him and that she wanted to see him win before saying that she hated ribeyes. Then, Ramsay reminded both Christina and him that they were both on their final tickets, and urged them to push it out like their first ones. After the final ticket was completed, he could not believe it was over as he did everything he could.

Back at the dorms, Justin wanted to win more than everything, before hoping he did good enough. Later, he and Christina were called into Ramsay's office, and while there, the latter called his extraordinary palate a gift. After Ramsay asked the two to stand behind a door, with only the winner’s door being the one that opened. After anxiously waiting for Ramsay’s countdown, both turned their handles, but his door did not open. He was named the runner-up, and even though he called his door not opening the toughest thing in his life, he knew he gave everything he could give, and had no regrets from an amazing experience, while saying he would have walked out if he lost to anybody other than Christina.[20]
