Episode 1[]

Main article: Episode 901 - 18 Chefs Compete

During the introduction of the season, Jason was one of the five chefs who were seen being given their acceptance letter, and he promised that he would destroy everybody.

When the chefs arrived in Los Angeles, they were greeted by James on the bus ride, and when he asked if they were ready to enter Hell's Kitchen, Jason claimed that he could not wait to cook. Then, the bus pulled over at the Orpheum Theatre, where they would be given a standing ovation by a live audience, and while getting ready, he declared that he was very excited to hear people cheer behind the curtain. However, when the curtain was pulled up, they discovered that the room was completely empty, much to their disappointment, before Ramsay revealed himself applauding very slowly. After the latter revealed the grand prize of the season, the chefs were asked to get back to Hell's Kitchen and cook their signature dishes.

During the Signature Dish Challenge, Jason was the last person from the blue team to have his dish judged by Ramsay, and went up against Gina. He presented his pork tacos, and when Ramsay asked him why he decided to do that on an important day like that, he answered that it was delicious, which made everybody laugh. Also, he admitted that he was very nervous for being the last person and serving tacos, Ramsay decided to taste his tacos the proper way, and after deliberation, he won the round over Gina as Ramsay clarified that his tacos tasted delicious, making him proud to have won it for the blue team with some tacos.

The blue team won the challenge 6-5, and they were rewarded with a dinner at the LA Market, in downtown Los Angeles, along with Season 8 winner Nona. Arrived there, Jason declared it awesome, and inside, they were greeted by Nona, which he found inspirational. During the dinner, she gave them some advice on how to compete, and after she left, the men toasted to their victory.

The next day, both teams went to the kitchens to begin prepping for the opening night, and they were given their Henkels knives set. During prep, Jason started to lose his rhythm as he had trouble to breathe, and Will came over to ask him if he was okay, but he answered that he was not feeling good and dizzy. So, he went to the back hallway while being helped by Will, and he revealed his condition to the medic, and that he was breathing heavily for one hour. The medic put a breathing mask over his face, and when he asked why his arms were very weak, the medic answered that it was because he was breathing all crazy. After, he was carried to the patio on a chair by some medics, still having breathing troubles, was covered with a blanket, and when the ambulance arrived, he was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. When both teams were lined up, Ramsay informed everybody that he would be placed at the hospital for a few days of bed rest, and that he would not return to Hell's Kitchen.

Ramsay gave no comment on Jason's departure, and he did not receive the coat hanging and burning picture sequence and his medical exit was not mentioned during the recap in episode 2.[1]

Main article: Episode 1201 - 20 Chefs Compete

The twenty new chefs rode on a bus on route to Hell's Kitchen and during this time they had the opportunity to get to know each other. Upon arrival, they were greeted by Jean-Philippe who walked the chefs into Hell’s Kitchen, only to walk into a service already going on with the food receiving positive comments and Ramsay expressing that the chefs in the kitchen were doing a splendid job. That confused the chefs, and once the service ended, Ramsay approached them and welcomed them. Ramsay explained that he did a soft opening to showcase the chefs what his expectations were, and asked if they could perform a service like the one they saw. Everybody promised they would, and Ramsay revealed that the winner would become a Head Chef at one of his restaurants, but first, they had to survive Hell’s Kitchen in Los Angeles, a place he deemed the capital of entertainment. Shortly after, patrons of the restaurant began putting on a performance. Afterwards, Ramsay announced it was time for the Signature Dish Challenge.

During the Signature Dish Challenge, Jason was the second person from the blue team to have his dish judged by Ramsay, and went up against Nicole. Before judging, Ramsay asked if he recognized him, which he confirmed that he did compete before in Season 9, only to have left then due to dehydration, but claimed he was ready to go. He made a seared and braised wild salmon with mushroom and vegetable medley, Ramsay praised it for being seasoned beautifully and tasting delicious, and he won that round over Nicole. The blue team eventually lost the challenge 4-5, and were punished by setting the dining room back into shape ready for the big opening.

During prep, Jason was ready to rock out with his crock pot out. During dinner service, he was on the meat station with Anton. He wasn't seen that much, except for calling Gaurav an idiot as the latter tasted the risotto with his fingers. Eventually, the blue team got kicked out of the kitchen after multiple mistakes, and he was frustrated by that. Both teams were named joint-losers, and were asked to nominate two chefs for elimination.

The next day, at 4:33 AM, the chefs awoke to the sounds of dirt bikes revving in the dorms, and Sous Chef Andi told the chefs to meet Ramsay outside. As the chefs watched three dirt bikers run in a steel ball in excitement, Jason could already feel his voice getting sore from screaming. During the Basics Relay Challenge, he yelled crazily at Anton and Chris, and Mike deemed him a funny guy. He was paired up with Gabriel , they were the third pair from the blue team to compete, and their tasked with shucking a dozen oysters. They quickly got their first attempt ready, and soon accepted.

The blue team won the challenge 5-4, and Jason felt good that the men kicked ass that day, even wanting to keep his helmet. They were rewarded with a trip to San Francisco, ate lunch with Ramsay at Epic Roasthouse, and went on a VIP trip around San Francisco on Segway’s. During the reward, Ramsay asked the men why the women lost, and the consensus was being poor communication skills as he felt they worked better than the women.

During dinner service, Jason was on the appetizer station with DeMarco. He was not worried about being on appetizers as he wanted to be on there despite it being the most backed up station the previous service, and wanted to show what he could do. However, he failed to give Ramsay proper timings for his food, and after Anton claimed that appetizers were the key for a successful service, the latter hoped he would step it up. Then, he sent up a salty risotto, but soon got his refire accepted. Eventually, the blue team was kicked out after multiple mistakes. As they left, he frustratingly deemed some people on his team idiots, and they should go home if they could not work under the pressure of Ramsay’s expectations. Both teams were named joint losers, and they were asked to nominate two each.

They were seen getting three of their attempts accepted, and he reacted with ecstasy after the first one. However, he had no idea what was going on in the trio's simple little minds when they failed to send up a dish. The blue team eventually lost the challenge 9-10, and he was angry at Mike, DeMarco, and Gabriel for only producing one plate in the challenge. They were punished by cleaning up the pennies worth $200,000, as well as clean and prep both kitchens for that night’s service. During the punishment, he called the punishment frustrating to clean up that many pennies, and on a break, he agreed with Scott that neither Mike nor DeMarco were not helping much, as he felt they had to trim the fat off.

Before service, Jason was confident the men would succeed, and told DeMarco to step up. During the Steak Night dinner service, he was on the fish station with DeMarco. At one point, he sarcastically congratulated Ralph for misremembering the order, and when Anton asked if they were waiting on crab cakes, he said they were not on order. After Richard sent up cold crab cakes, he said that crab cakes were so simple to cook that even a monkey could do one, and was dismayed that the former failed to check them before sending it up to the pass. Later, he told Chris not to put the filets up if he was not confident, and when Anton brought the filet with sauce, he said he had to acknowledge him and told Anton not to run up like a jackass before bringing up the fish. Eventually, the women were called in to help out, but when Sandra told him that his salmon needed three more minutes, he argued not to cut the salmon open as it would lose its valuable taste. He continued to argue with Sandra, even calling her a "dumb little-", until Ramsay took them both up to the pass as Joy could not believe he was arguing with Sandra on his station. While he apologized for his behavior, Ramsay reminded him that he told Sandra to get on his station and while he may not like it, it was his choice. After, Ramsay told him and Sandra to go back to his station.

The blue team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, Jason told Ralph that it was slow on appetizers, but the latter felt he banged out everything despite being alone. Then, he bluntly told Mike that he was going up no matter how much he fought against it, and felt Anton was rushing a little bit.

During the punishment, he said he hated bees.

After Gabriel announced it could take five minutes, Ramsay was in disbelief, and he asked why the former did not have two pans fired. While Anton acknowledged him as a strong cook, the former has yet to see his leadership skills. Eventually, Anton was named the blue team's leader.

The chefs went to Ramsay's gastropub where they were given a tour of the restaurant, and to look at the menu for Gastropub Night. He became pumped when Ramsay explained the kind of stuff he used the gastropub for.

During prep, Ralph started to feel ill and went to see the medic, causing Jason to relive bad memories as he still remembered being forced to leave during Season 9, and hoped the former would not suffer the same fate he had. When the medic felt that Ralph should not perform that night, he was dismayed about being down a man and told his teammates the scenario of there being five men cooking. However, he wanted to kick ass and see the women cry again and told everybody to stay calm.

During the Gastropub Night dinner service, Jason was on the appetizer station with Richard. While he tried to communicate times with Scott and Anton, the latter did not respond as he was in the zone with his food, and was going too fast for his liking. He called Anton a stupid idiot for not communicating with anybody, but the latter did not give a rat’s ass. Despite that, the order was accepted, and the men were pushing out appetizers. When Anton struggled on remembering an order, he called the former a hotheaded idiot who could not remember an order. When an argument between him and Anton about the miscommunication was getting rough, Richard tried to calm them down until Ramsay got them under control, yelling at the men that there was more shouting than cooking. As he saw the red team's orders coming out, the women were called in to help them out. However, when more communication breakdowns occurred about timings, Ramsay asked the men were their dignity was, only for him to retort that Anton lost theirs. Eventually, the men were kicked out of the kitchen, and back at the dorms, he said that Anton was not a leader, and if they let him do his own way, he would take the men down with him, before claiming he could run the meat station with his eyes closed.

The blue team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, Jason asked who would go up, and agreed with Ralph about Gabriel's off timings and miscommunication.

He was the ninth chef to have his dish judged by Ramsay, and made an unknown dish with brown rice. Ramsay spat out the raw brown rice as he compared it to a mouth full of bullets, and he did not dethrone Rochelle. The blue team won the challenge, and they were rewarded with a day at Le Spa at Sofitel in Beverly Hills. During the reward, he said he does not do spa days before, and he would never afterwards.

During the Charity Night dinner service, Jason was annoyed that Gabriel seared off ten tunas instead of twelve as it meant the latter had issues with counting. During the fourth course, he and Sandra argued over how she was breading the lamb as it had to be 90% cooked to bread them. Then, they argued about how to slice the lamb as he was trying to help her out, and told her to go fuck herself if she did not want it. Then, Ramsay revealed that the lamb was cold, pissing him off. When the blue team was forced to plate only one lamb for each, he said that he hated Sandra. He was in charge of the apple beignet dessert course, and had his course out with no problems. When cleaning up, he could not help but smile at Angie Harmon when she thanked Ramsay and the kitchen. Both teams were named joint losers, and they were asked to nominate two each. Episode 13[]

Main article: Episode 1213 - 9 Chefs Compete

The next day, Sous Chef James entered the dorms with two delivery people and gathered both teams to the living room, although Jason got annoyed when Gabriel made a stupid comment. After, the delivery people began to rap out a message from Ramsay, revealing that the packages they had were two blank menus, and that they had one hour to create their own menu for that night’s service.

During prep, when Ramsay looked at the demo dishes, he found the wild mushroom risotto to be phenomenal, and Jason said that you would have to be stupid in the mouth to not like mushrooms. As the blue team continued to prep, Rochelle’s frantic mood aggravated him as this was a simple menu and told her to calm down, but she left the kitchen in frustration, even muttering how much she wanted to go home. He hoped that Rochelle did not quit.

During dinner service, Jason was on the fish station. He hoped that Rochelle went pasted her anxiety attack from earlier, and when she got her risottos accepted, he was happy for her strong start. On entrées, he felt that Gabriel did not work well under pressure as Ramsay told the latter to speed up and added on that he was not used to working with idiots, a claim that came true when Gabriel sent up undercooked steaks. After Richard's garnishes caught on fire, he annoyingly felt that Gabriel and Richard were making too many mistakes by now, feeling that he and Rochelle were the blue team. After feeling Gabriel's raw filet, he felt ti was nearly refrigerator temperature, and got annoyed when Richard served only one Brussel sprout.

The blue team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, Jason said Richard and Gabriel were the obvious nominees, but when the latter asked why, he and Rochelle reminded him about their mistakes that night. When Gabriel and Richard considered Rochelle based on her emotional breakdown earlier, he knew Rochelle kicked ass that night.

Jason was not nominated for elimination, and after Richard's elimination, he welcomed Melanie as a new teammate. While being dismissed, he felt that the wrong man went home as Gabriel was a little bitch.[14]

Episode 14[]

Back at the dorms, Jason and Rochelle were happy to have Melanie on the team, but when the latter suggested changing up the routine with the blue team, he asked if they were that much of a downer. However, they laughed over it.

During the Blind Taste Test, Jason was the third person from the blue team to compete, went up against Scott, and was confident as his background was in meat. However, he failed to score any points, and Gabriel was disappointed with him getting no points as he knew he was better than that. The blue team lost the challenge 4-6, Ramsay singled him and Melanie for costing their team the challenge, and they were punished by unloading shipments of ice and making ice cream by hand. He was sure that Melanie was going to win the challenge for the team, but was only angry at himself. During the punishment, he carried two blocks of ice as he wanted that day to be over with, only to drop one on the ground to Sous Chef James’ annoyance. Then, he noticed that Gabriel was not in it that day, much to his concern. When the blue team worked on the ice cream, Rochelle realized that he forgot to add stuff to his churner other than ice, which she called embarrassing.

When the red team came back from their reward, Jason noticed Anton limping as the latter said he pulled something during the reward. During prep, he felt that Gabriel was depressed rather than focused. During dinner service, he was on the fish station. Melanie tried to communicate with him on timings, but he was late on cooking the lobster tail. Even though Melanie never worked with him before that night, she hoped he knew what he was doing as Ramsay asked him for the lobster tail. Despite that, he got his first attempt accepted. As the night went smoothly, he felt the blue team was at their strongest right now, and said he was a big fan over working with Rochelle and Melanie. After he and Rochelle sent up their final order, Ramsay had the entire team to the pass, making him wonder what went wrong. However, Ramsay showed them how strong the standards were on the plates, and while he had some strong services on the show before, they were not as good as that night. The blue team won the service.[15]

While going back to the dorms, Jason said it was cool to see Anton leave due to the latter’s cocky and arrogant attitude, but while Melanie was surprised about Anton’s elimination, he was not.

During the Budget Challenge, Jason struggled to string the Cornish hen, and when there were five minutes left, he took out the Cornish hen and threatened to punch himself if he ruined it. However, he discovered that the Cornish hen was raw, and was forced to sear it as Gabriel knew they were fucked if they send it out raw to the judges. He was the first person from the blue team to have his dish judged, and went up against Kashia. He made a fresh game hen, and feared that it was still raw even after searing it, with Gabriel praying that it was cooked perfectly. Fortunately, the dish was praised for a moist protein, but criticized for small portions as Ramsay asked him where the other half was, but when he said he did not want to crowd the plate, Ramsay took the piss out of that comment. So, he scored a $20 average, making him pissed off. The blue team lost the challenge $69.33-$73.01, and they were punished by participating in spring cleaning day in the dorms.

The next day, the chefs came downstairs to see a lot of people from the press waiting for them as Ramsay led them to the stage. When Season 9 winner Paul appeared, Jason recalled competing with him briefly before being forced to leave. When it was announced that the seven chefs had a chance to be on the Hell's Kitchen Calendar, he said he was going to rock his dick off. During the Black Jackets Challenge, decided to make a seafood pasta dish in order to change it up. He was the first person to have his dish judged, and he made a stuffed halibut with goat cheese crab and shrimp. Dana took notice that he had cappelini on his dish, which Paul did not understand as it was only used to add starches to the plate, and called it boring. However, he said that Paul was a dick because of that comment. After tasting his dish, Dana felt the entire dish was coated in butter, he scored 8 points, and he told Paul to go fuck himself after the latter gave him a one. When Scott small talked with the judges, he called him a kiss ass, and that it was getting on his nerves, before showing fake sympathy when Scott scored low.[16] He lost the challenge to Joy, and was punished by making lunch for her and the judges. During the punishment, he saw Paul choking, and felt he deserved it.

During dinner service, Jason was on the garnish station. When Gabriel was confused on the order of scallops, he called him dumb, and not being able to produce what he talked. When Gabriel sent up scallops not on order, he said there was no excuses for making mistakes at the late stage of the competition. After Gabriel sent up a salmon with soggy skin, he got pissed, and said it was a simple thing to do before offering to help him on the third attempt. However, Gabriel ignored his suggestion of adding stock to the salmon, and he got infuriated. When Gabriel was eliminated mid service and sent out the front doors, he knew how serious it was in that stage of the competition.

Both teams were named joint losers, and they were asked to nominate one each. During deliberation, Jason nominated Rochelle for elimination as he could not believe she made it far despite never working on the line, and did not feel she was a strong cook. However, Rochelle felt that he came off as a jerk before nominating him based on that, which Melanie agreed with. That surprised him as he was never considered for elimination before, but Melanie said it was different. However, he argued that he deserved to stay more than Rochelle and Melanie, especially since the latter was in a panic mess that night, and would be pissed as hell if he went home and Melanie stayed.

Jason was the blue team's nominee for elimination, and joined Scott from the red team. While he expressed confusion over why, Rochelle explained that it was based on a lack of passion. During his plea, he said he did consistently well in the competition, and was passion about cooking. When Ramsay asked him what was different between him and Scott, he said he was good with meat. He survived elimination as Ramsay gave him the final black jacket, apologizing for the long wait. While being dismissed, he knew his hard work and perseverance paid off.[17]

The next day, the final six walked downstairs to a party bus, and on the ride down, Scott and Jason tried to figure out what Ramsay said last night. When they arrived at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, he got pumped up by the college theme. During the 50 Tailgating Portions Challenge, he made an ultimate pork belly sandwich, and boasted that challenge was made for him. While he was not nervous about his winning dish, Ramsay warned him about a fire brewing in his grill. When serving his dishes, he worked with the crowd even though he was not a Trojans fan. He ended up tying with Scott for the highest rated dish, they were named joint winners, and he said that they killed it, and how nice it was to beat the women.

During the reward, they met with Chris Kufek, and said the lodge was what he wanted back home. Later, he felt he and Scott nailed it before comparing some of the animal mounts to the women. When tasting the wine, he guzzled the wine down, claiming that he and Scott do not go out much.

When the men returned from their reward, they moved away from the women when they tried to hug them in their dirty jump suits. When they went in, Jason tried to rough house with Scott, only to nearly hit Sous Chef Andi, much to his horror. The next day, Joy noticed he was missing as he was hung over and woke up late, but felt he was ready to get back to work. However, he moved sluggishly to Joy’s annoyance, and Sous Chef Andi told him to hustle as they were opening early.

Later, he was about to ask Kashia for a time when she was in the middle of walking up the salmon, and he deemed her dead weight as she was still quiet. After service, Ramsay asked the final six to nominate one person for elimination. During deliberation, he knew Kashia bombed fish from the start, but while she argued that she was left alone that night, he remarked he had no problems running fish alone in the past. However, Kashia felt that with two people on meat, a chicken should not have come back, but he retorted that more fish came back that night, and named Kashia as his nominee. Then, he feared the women would stick together and vote Scott.

He was not nominated for elimination.[18]

The next day, the final five saw a performance of Street Drum Corp, but Jason wanted to see them break something. During the Leftovers Challenge, Melanie noticed that he grabbed a large amount of ingredients for his dish, and set his pan on fire by adding too much oil. When Joy awkwardly said that Better Homes and Garden was her favorite bathroom literature, he could not believe she said that. He was the third person to have his dish judged, and made a seafood lovers delight, featuring steamed clams and mussels, seared scallops and shrimp. It was deemed swimming around in looks, and Ramsay reminded him it was a single page spread, not a double page. As for the taste, it had an odd texture and it tasted like leftovers, but he refused to believe that.

Jason lost the challenge to Scott, but was chosen to come with him on the fighter jet reward. He thanked Scott for a chance of a lifetime. During the reward, he asked for a barf bag and a diaper before he flew, and as he flew in the jet, he screamed during his experience and felt lightheaded, but said there was no other better day. When they landed, he and Scott talked about their experience.

During prep, Scott and Jason came back from their reward with full knowledge of Rochelle’s accident, but when he asked if the latter was gone for good, Melanie had no idea. When Ramsay announced that Stan Lee was dining in the chef's table, he instantly knew the name the moment the former listed off the superhero’s Lee created, and called it every kid's dream. During dinner service, he was on the garnish station. When Lee came in the kitchen, he was in awe at his presence. After seeing Melanie struggle on appetizers, he felt she was losing her mind and had a screw loose. On entrées, he helped Joy out on the halibut sauce, but when the latter walked up her fish before Rochelle was ready, he had no idea what happened. On the next order, Ramsay asked for a time on the garnishes, but while he said he needed 90 seconds, Joy ended up walking the halibut up despite the announcement. Ramsay was frustrated as he wanted the garnish first before the halibut, but while he understood that, Joy was confused. After Joy quit, he could not believe the former lost it over a single fish. After getting a pep talk from Ramsay, he was ready for the crunch time as four people in the kitchen were better, but secretly hoped for three instead.

After service, Jason was still shocked over Joy’s decision to quit as he thought it would be him and her in the finale, and it blew his mind for her to flush that chance away. Ramsay announced that nobody else would be going home.[19]

While going back to the dorms, Jason admitted that the service went differently than expected thanks to Joy’s meltdown and quitting afterwards, as he thought she was his solid competition. However, that made him realize that it was everybody’s game now. The next day, he reunited with his girlfriend and mother, and admitted to them how hard the competition was.

During the Taste It Now Make It Challenge, Jason used sole with a prosciutto wrapping as it had a distinct taste, pumpkin, and watercress in order to recreate Ramsay's dish. He experimented with different purées before using watercress. He won the challenge as he got all the components correct, and felt he was on a roll.

Jason was was rewarded with a VIP restaurant tour in Los Angeles, and had a surprise waiting in the dorms. Once there, he found brand-new stainless-steel cookware waiting for him, and he could not wait to use them back home. During the reward, he was joined with Sous Chef Andi, and they drove to Fig & Olive where they met Mitchell Ramos, which he called inspiring. As they tasted the food, he was very happy, but when Sous Chef Andi asked him who was his biggest competition, he was not worried as Melanie was getting stupider. However, Sous Chef Andi told him that if he stayed consistent, he will be fine. Later, he and Sous Chef Andi went to Ink, where they met his loved ones. He said it meant a lot to him to have his family and talk with them as they met with Michael Voltaggio, and sampled his dishes. He explained how frustrating it was, and when his mother asked if he yelled at people, he recalled the times he did towards Mike and Sandra, and letting a passionate yell out in the dorms. After, he called it a wonderful day that he would never forget.

Before service began, Jason came running back from his reward, and quickly got changed into his black jacket. During dinner service, he was on the fish station. At one point, he could not understand Rochelle's callout due to her speaking fast, before mimicking her in the confessional. On Scott's turn, the former rejected his halibut sauce for being overly garlicky. He was the final chef to run the pass, but called out the order in a casual way as he felt people would work under him better if they liked him. However, Scott was surprised that he was acting like a goof ball, and knew he had to command respect to earn his respect, and Sous Chef Andi told him to get serious as Ramsay got concerned about the lack of talking. Then, Ramsay pulled him aside, told him not to call out the orders like he was talking to friends at a pub, and reminded him that he was running them. He knew he had to step it up, and became more serious, allowing entrées to leave the kitchen. On the next order, Sous Chef James sent up crusted salmon instead of crusted halibut, but he noticed the mistake to Ramsay’s praise.

After service, Ramsay asked the final four to name one person that did not deserve to be in the finale. During deliberation, Jason said he did not give a fuck if everybody picked his name, but when he and Scott came to the patio, the women left for the bathroom, leaving him suspicious. Once alone, he and Scott agreed that Melanie could not be a leader be based on her age, and was confident that he and the latter had it.

When the final four came downstairs, Ramsay asked them who they felt did not deserve to be in the finale. Jason said Rochelle as her anxiety made her too frantic, which was not healthy in the kitchen, while the latter said him. After Rochelle's elimination, Ramsay told the final three that he could see any one of them in the finale, but there could only be two. He was named the second finalist, followed by Scott as the first, and after Melanie's elimination, Ramsay congratulated the final two, and told them to enjoy the moment as their biggest test lied ahead of them. While being dismissed, he called it amazing as he came a long way from before.[20]

Continuing from the previous episode, Ramsay told the final two that he was sending them to a luxury suite at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills for an overnight trip. While going upstairs to pack up, Jason was excited that two mid-Western guys were making waves in Los Angeles, and was pumped up before telling all his doubters to go screw themselves. At the Four Seasons Hotel, he and Scott toasted to making it far, and while working on his menu, he felt that the friendship he had with Scott was turning into a rivalry, but knew it was a part of the game. The next day, he and Scott came downstairs for breakfast, only to be joined by his girlfriend and his mother, which made him feel good and giving him more motivation to win. After seeing Scott play with his kids, he said he wanted to win more as the former had a good enough life as it was. After breakfast, the Sous Chefs came to get him and Scott as there was more things to be done, but when they arrived back to their suite, they met Ramsay waiting for them. Ramsay gave the two their head chef jackets, and said that he was taking them out for the evening so they can have fun without the competition for once. Later that evening, he and Scott met with Ramsay outside the Vogu Theatre for a boxing match. When they sat down, the MC announced the main event, but it turned out that he and Scott were the next competitors in the ring, much to their shock. Ramsay told them that their final challenge began now, and revealed that he had kitchens ready behind them so they could cook in front of the audience.

During the Final Menu Challenge, Jason said the dishes were based on his personality, while he felt Scott’s dishes were all laddie da fo fo. On the cold appetizer round, he made a pork belly wedge salad, and while it was deemed nice, Michael Voltaggio felt it need more cooking on the pork belly. So, he scored 8 points. On the hot appetizer round, he made a mushroom risotto, it was deemed dry despite being flavorable, and he scored 8 points. On the chicken entrée round, he made a chicken Ballentine with heirloom carrots, it was deemed excellent, and he scored 9 points On the fish entrée round, his caramelized salmon with rappini had well working flavors, and he scored 9 points. Before the beef entrée round, he got nervous as David Myers was an amazing chef. He made a filet of beef with wild mushrooms and confit garlic Yukon mashed, it was praised for being perfectly cooked, and he scored 8 points.

Jason lost the challenge to Scott 42-43, and was forced to have the final pick. After a hard look, he named Anton as his first, Melanie as his second, Gabriel as his third, and Bev as his fourth. He was left with Sandra as his final pick, but he was not happy as the former was terrible, and recalled the arguments he had with her in the past.

Back at the dorms, Jason discussed his menu with his team, but he was loud and boisterous. Sandra called him sporadic, while Melanie called him loopy due to the lack of sleep. When Anton told him to relax, he said he will when he wins. During prep, he noticed that Sandra was missing, but nobody had an idea where she was, making Gabriel deem her the weakest link as she was lazy and knew she would not give it a 100% that night. Sandra was in the bathroom before coming back, but he warned her to wake up, before warning everybody that he can kick them out he if so pleased despite being reluctant about the idea.

During dinner service, Jason said he loved Sons of Anarchy, and having Mark Boone Junior at the chefs table was badass. Sandra gave him a halfhearted call out, but he would not tolerate her shit as he already warned her about a kick out. However, Sandra felt that his behavior was rude, but managed to walk up perfect crab cakes. 45 minutes into dinner service, he was on the VIP’s order and hoped that Sandra would not let him down, but Ramsay saw that she cooked the crab cakes ten minutes ago, had them out for that long, and was planning to serve them instead of a fresh batch. That caused Ramsay to accuse Sandra of trying to sabotage him, which he felt so, but when he called Sandra a dumbass, the latter snapped at him. He asked Sandra if she wanted to leave, but while she could care less as she was intimidated by people bigger than him, she began working on the refire. He was able to serve Boone’s table, and he began firing entrées. When Gabriel walked up an overcooked steak, he called the former a dumbass as he done it before, and even threatened to kill all of them in a stressed panic. He waited for Gabriel on the refire and was losing his patience, leading Melanie to tell Gabriel not to get on his bad side as he was already fucking crazy. Fortunately, Gabriel’s refire was accepted. Later, he called out the VIP’s order, but Sandra sent up underseasoned garnishes, and Melanie told her to get her shit together as if it was her running the red kitchen, she would have kicked the former out, before wondering why he was not doing that. Feeling that Sandra was going too slow, he asked her what was going on, but she did not answer, leading Ramsay to call her a brick wall. Eventually, he got the VIP order served.

After service, Ramsay reminded Scott and Jason that while their final service was over, he still had a hell of thinking to do as that night was a close one. After, he and Scott said goodbye to their brigade before heading back to the dorms. Back at the dorms, he really wanted to win as he worked hard for it, and was ready to find out the results now. Later that night, Ramsay called the dorms and asked the two to come to his office. Once there, Ramsay deemed him the most consistent chef in the competition, and his passion and drive was remarkable. After, Ramsay said he made a decision, and had the two stand in front of the two doors. After Ramsay’s countdown from three, both turned their handles, but his door did not open. He was named the runner-up, and while he thought his door would open, he knew Scott deserved it, as the latter had cooking skills up the wazoo and was happy for him.[21]
