The fourth episode of Season 10 of Hell's Kitchen aired on FOX on June 12, 2012. In that episode, lamb was the main ingredient, dinner service was a mess, and the first team switch occurred.
Intro[]
While going back to the dorms, Brian was proud of the men for completing dinner service and felt a monumental shift. As Justin felt they won because they fought through that night, Clemenza felt they needed the win that night as the women lost a chef. They agreed to win the next challenge. Meanwhile, Kimmie and Tiffany were pissed that Barbie was still around. Kimmie felt Barbie was dragging the women down, and Tiffany told Guy that Barbie sucked.
Team challenge[]
The next day, a group of dogs was let loose in the dorms, and their loud barking woke up the chefs, confusing Barbie. Once up, Sous Chef Scott gave them overalls to put on, Kimmie realized they were going to a farm. Don said he was old McDonald due to being old, his name being Donald, and going to a farm. Once the chefs got to their destination, Kimmie saw Ramsay in a pen waiting for them, and as she was from Tennessee, she was down to be dirty and country. Ramsay said that he wanted them to get up and close with their ingredients for their next challenge before whistling a trailer to open and release a herd of sheep. That led Patrick to ask what they were doing. For the Creative Lamb Challenge, Ramsay said he wanted four lamb dishes, and the thirty lambs in front of them had the ingredient names written on both their bodies and their collars. One team member would go into the pan, grab the ingredient they wanted from the collars, and only had five minutes to get as much as they could. Tiffany said she was not afraid of farm animals and could tackle a sheep if she wanted.
Barbie and Justin were the first chefs from their teams to go into the pen, and the latter grabbed potatoes for the men. While Barbie grabbed spinach, Guy grabbed avocado. While Robyn and Patrick had no problems getting down and dirty to capture the collars, Clemenza walked to his sheep and grabbed a collar, frustrating the former. Roshni struggled to catch a sheep. Eventually, time was up, but while the men had one ingredient less than the women, Clemenza was confident their ingredients were better.
After returning to Hell’s Kitchen, the chefs got changed and met Ramsay back downstairs, who asked for a lamb steak, a rack of lamb, lamb chops, and ground lamb in 45 minutes. While most chefs split themselves into pairs and divided up the ingredients, Patrick cooked by himself due to the men down a chef. While Barbie and Robyn put their lamb in the oven, Guy and Justin discussed ideas as the former accidentally cut his hand while cleaning his knife and yelled in pain. As the medic went to see Guy, Clemenza grew worried as it meant the cut was that serious, but it turned out to be a cut on his finger. As Clemenza told Guy not to act like a bitch, Ramsay said that the latter’s screaming sounded like he had a circumcision without an antiseptic. Kimmie wanted to do a curry sauce for her and Roshni’s ground lamb dish in the red kitchen. Danielle questioned why the rack of lamb was in the oven as it could be overcooked. Despite Robyn arguing that the rack of lamb took longer to cook, she decided to listen to her teammates and took it out of the oven.
Meanwhile, Royce ignored Brian’s suggestion of salting their lamb steak as he felt he was better than his teammates. Robyn sliced the lamb with one minute left, but there was still some raw fat on it, frustrating her as she listened to her teammates' concerns for nothing. Eventually, both teams got their dishes cooked and plated on time.
On the first round, the pairs of Clemenza and Don, and Tiffany and Danielle went up with their lamb chop dishes. Tiffany presented her and Danielle’s anchovy and pine nut crusted lamb chop and a soufflé, leaving Guy confident the men would score as there was no way she could have made a soufflé in 45 minutes. Despite questioning the soufflé component, Ramsay deemed the dish delicious and that he would pay a lot of money to pay for that. Then, Clemenza presented his and Don’s herbed crusted grilled lamb with a roasted cauliflower feta melt. Ramsay compared the lamb chop to Steven Tyler’s ear lobe and handed Clemenza the herbs as they were not needed. However, Ramsay did praise the mustard and feta combination as mouth melting. After a tough decision, he gave both pairs the win, and it was a 1-point tie. On the ground lamb round, Roshni presented her and Kimmie’s lamb balls on top of coconut curry and told Ramsay it was the latter’s idea to do the curry. Despite Ramsay not being thrilled about being their guinea pig, he liked the taste, pleasing Kimmie. After, Patrick presented his lamb and fennel sausage, he felt that he had a better presentation than Roshni and Kimmie’s dish, and Ramsay liked the creativity and the combination. However, Roshni and Kimmie won that round for their seasoning, the women led 2-1, and Kimmie declared that she, a Memphis bitch, made a fucking curry. Barbie presented her and Robyn’s rack of lamb with parsnip purée with braised leeks on the rack of lamb round. Ramsay had difficulty cutting a piece as a frustrated Robyn told her teammates that it was raw before angrily telling them it should have been in the oven longer. Ramsay confirmed Robyn’s frustrated comments and said he would not eat it as he had four children to look after. Then, Justin presented his and Guy’s grilled rack of lamb with roasted garlic and basil purée and turnip three ways, and after tasting it, Ramsay said that it worked. So, Justin and Guy scored that round, and the score was tied at two each. On the final round, Dana presented her and Christina’s braised lamb steak with sautéed spinach. Ramsay praised them for brazing their lamb as it worked. After, Royce said he had something that would blow Ramsay’s mind and revealed his and Brian’s marinated grilled lamb steak with avocado mousse and coleslaw. Ramsay praised the combination of the mousse and the steak, along with the seasoning. After a tough decision, Ramsay gave Royce and Brian the point, the men won 3-2, and a proud Brian felt that he just gave birth. After Ramsay said there were some phenomenal dishes he saw, he called Robyn and Barbie’s dish the most memorable for all the wrong reasons due to serving him raw lamb and asking the two what the hell they were doing. Robyn explained she put the lamb in the oven because a rack took longer. Even though Robyn blamed her teammates for telling her otherwise, Christina reminded her that she was accountable for what she presented, to which Ramsay agreed. However, Robyn had enough of listening to people and declared that she was focused on only herself.

Reward[]
The men were rewarded with a VIP trip to the Hollywood Park racetrack, and when Clemenza asked for some cash to gamble, Ramsay gave them $100 to use and asked them not to spend it on hot dogs. During the reward, Clemenza felt happy that they finally won a challenge and got to relax for once before using the $100 to bet on a horse that wore blue. However, the horse lost, and Clemenza claimed he could have run faster than the horse if somebody dangled a piece of prosciutto in front of him. Later, Justin said he did not want to send somebody home that night, and Patrick agreed as he wanted to stay focused that night.
Punishment[]
The women were punished by washing off the paint from the sheep, cleaning up both kitchens, and prepping them for that night’s service. Dana sarcastically thanked Robyn and Barbie for making them clean up sheep for screwing up their lamb during the punishment. For lunch, Sous Chef Andi served the women lamb testicles, making Christina gag at the sight of them. While Danielle refused to eat them, Kimmie called her a bitch in response and told the former to suck it up and put the balls in her mouth. As Kimmie was downing the testicles, Danielle did not react with amusement.
Later, the women were beginning to prep both kitchens. While Christina thanked Kimmie for eating most of the testicles for her, the latter commented that she had to because the rest of the women refused to. Meanwhile, Danielle and Dana discussed Kimmie’s poor attitude. Danielle went to Kimmie to ask what she did to upset her. However, Kimmie said she was felt like giving her attitude, angering Danielle, leading to a shouting match annoying Christina.
Before service[]
Later, the men came back from their reward. After changing into their chef jackets, Brian felt they had momentum after two victories from the previous dinner service and the challenge that day before predicting another win that night. After, Ramsay asked James to open Hell’s Kitchen.
Dinner service[]
As service began, the women were hoping to bounce back, while the men felt united to the point Patrick told Guy he loved him. After Ramsay called out the first order for the women, Danielle did not know what it was and asked her teammates what he called out. Despite Danielle eventually remembering the order, an annoyed Kimmie accused her of trying to have the dumb blonde look going as Ramsay urged her to speed up. Then, Danielle sent up a raw and under-seasoned risotto. Christina spat out her taste when Ramsay asked them to eat it. He berated Danielle for rushing while Robyn told her to concentrate. Justin told the men to let him and Brian talk for appetizers in the blue kitchen, which Ramsay liked. Still, Brian sent up a raw cioppino, annoying Clemenza as it was not a hard dish to make. Robyn asked Danielle for a time on the refire in the red kitchen so she could drop her calamari. Still, Danielle was not communicating correctly, angering Robyn, especially when she walked her dishes before Robyn was ready. However, Danielle felt that it was not her fault Robyn could not handle herself on garnish. Despite the poor communication, the women were pushing out appetizers.
One hour and fifteen minutes into dinner service, Brian got his refire accepted, and the men were sending out appetizers as well. Now moving onto entrées, Brian wanted to redeem himself and let the fish station know who’s the boss. Still, Ramsay discovered that the cod was raw and called it cat food before smashing it. While Brian was pissed at himself, Ramsay threw a piece of the cod at him as he felt he could not cook fish that night. Then, per Ramsay’s instruction, Justin went over to fish and saw that Brian burned the refire, annoying both Clemenza and Sous Chef Scott as they were wasting food. Don said that Brian was way under a pile of poop. After, Brian burned their final cod of the night. A pissed Ramsay asked Brian what he was doing before telling James to suggest sea bass as an alternative to the affected customers. However, when Ramsay called out the revised order, Brian said it would be out while calling Ramsay “baby.” Angered by that, Ramsay told Brian that he cooked like a baby and kicked the latter out of the kitchen as Justin took over the fish station. Roshni sent up her Wellingtons in the red kitchen, but they were raw, making her feel like crap as she was better than that, and Ramsay ordered her to show that she was awake. Justin was able to get his sea bass accepted in the blue kitchen, putting the men back on track for entrées. Still, on the following order, Don was clueless over what pan the Wellingtons went on, and Guy said he was wearing 17 seat belts due to Don driving the bus. Then, Don sent up his Wellingtons, and despite Royce’s concerns, they were deemed perfect. In the red kitchen, Roshni delayed sending up her refires for having uneven pieces. As her disorganized performance continued by continually putting it in and out of the oven, Robyn told Roshni to make up her mind and asked if the latter thought there were fairies in the oven to magically make the meat come out perfectly. When Roshni finally sent up her Wellingtons, they were raw and stone-cold. A pissed Ramsay kicked Roshni out of the kitchen despite saying she had more ready as Danielle took over meat.
Ramsay called out the next order in the blue kitchen, but when Don sliced his steak, Royce announced that it was raw. However, Don ignored Royce and sent the raw steak up, with Ramsay calling him Dumbo after showing the men. As Don felt he was crapping himself in fear, he kept calling out one minute on the refire. That irritated the men as Ramsay told him he had said that for the past three minutes like an idiot. When Don sent up the refire, they were medium-well, and after berating him for keeping him waiting for that, Ramsay kicked Don out of the kitchen. After making it back to the dorms, Don argued that a lot was going on in the kitchen, yet Ramsay hounded him for not being good enough. Back in the kitchen, Royce had full control of the meat. Danielle sent up her attempt on the Wellington in the red kitchen, finally bringing their first order of entrées out. However, Ramsay ordered the women to taste the spinach as it reeked garlic, and Robyn took the blame. Then, Ramsay revealed that the sauce for the Wellington was cold. When Danielle admitted to that mistake, she and Robyn were kicked out of the kitchen, leaving nobody on meat.
Two hours into dinner service, Ramsay ordered the men for two sea bass immediately. Still, for some reason, both Justin and Royce were cooking fish. Infuriated by that, Ramsay kicked both Justin and Royce out of the kitchen, with the former knowing he got kicked out because Ramsay was fed up with the latest mistake. Very few entrées have been served by that point, and at least half of the chefs were ejected out of the kitchen. With Kimmie now on meat in a kitchen of five women, she wanted to get their shit out and complete dinner service. Despite both kitchens down people, the remaining chefs were able to get the remaining entrées out.
Post-mortem[]
When both teams lined up, Ramsay called that night painful, seeing them all disintegrate and compared it to getting a root canal while passing a kidney stone at the same time. So, both teams were named joint losers and were asked to nominate two people each.
During deliberation, Patrick knew that the men sucked that night as most of them had their heads up their asses and was not afraid of sending someone home just so the blue team could progress. Clemenza accused Don of being lost that night, but the latter argued that he only had one problem that night and felt fish was the station that brought them down that night. Then, Royce asked Brian how a personal chef could not cook fish, feeling that five monkeys could have done a better job than the latter. While Brian admitted to his mistakes, he promised never to do it again. After, both Patrick and Clemenza considered Don and Brian for elimination, and Guy agreed to that. However, Brian refused to believe he was the weakest chef in the competition and was willing to fight.
Meanwhile, Robyn suggested they nominate the people who got kicked out that night. Kimmie and Barbie were considering Roshni for elimination. While Roshni knew she screwed up on her Wellingtons, she refused to be nominated for the third time in a row. Then, Christina and Danielle considered Robyn due to sinking on garnish that night. Still, Robyn reminded Danielle how she stopped communicating with her and told her off. While Danielle felt she did nothing wrong the entire competition, she considered Kimmie for being an idiot. By the end, the women struggled to name two people for elimination, but Robyn pushed them to nominate two of the three women who were kicked out that night.
Elimination[]
Royce announced Don as the men’s first nominee for elimination, with Brian as their second. Christina announced Roshni as the women’s first nominee for elimination and Danielle as their second. During their pleas, Ramsay reminded Roshni that out of four dinner services, this was her third time up for elimination and asked if she was honestly over her head. Roshni disagreed and was a team player with passion, while Danielle felt she had no other problems besides communication. Then, Don said he had a lot to offer the men. Still, when Ramsay asked don why the men nominated him, he felt they wanted to step up, only for Ramsay to feel they wanted him to step out of the way instead. After, Brian called himself a machine, but Ramsay said he was not looking for a machine. After listening to their pleas, Ramsay eliminated Don for his poor performance on meat and not having his head in the game after four dinner services. During his exit interview, Don said he initially hoped for Ramsay to love his food and knew he was more of a perfectionist than what he showed.
Team switch[]
After Don left, Ramsay explained that he was not done yet after a poor dinner service and sent Danielle and Brian back in line. Then, Ramsay asked Roshni for her jacket. Instead of eliminating her, Ramsay moved Roshni into the blue team, hoping that an environmental change could change her performance.
While being dismissed, Danielle called elimination scary and was glad to be safe. Roshni said that no matter the jacket, she was not going to stop fighting. Then, Brian felt he had a kick in the ass that night.
Ramsay's comment: "Everyone in Hell's Kitchen starts at the bottom. Unfortunately, Don stayed there."
