Danielle "Dannie" Harrison was a contestant on Season 15 of Hell's Kitchen. She ranked in 6th place.

Season 15[]

Episode 1[]

Main article: Episode 1501 - 18 Chefs Compete

When the chefs arrived at Hell's Kitchen, they found out that they had to go to Las Vegas immediately. After participating in a parade, the chefs met Ramsay at the BLT Steak, which was the prize-winning restaurant, and they were asked to cook their signature dishes there.

During the Signature Dish Challenge, Dannie was the third person from the red team to have her dish judged by Ramsay and went up against Mark. Before tasting her dish, Ramsay asked her what she did to relax, she revealed that she was an amateur boxer and that she won her recent match in January. She made pan-seared scallops with Thai curry sauce, Ramsay deemed it a knockout, and she scored 4 points. The red team eventually lost the challenge 22-24, and they were punished by peeling 50 pounds of shrimp and making 1000 pounds of truffle mashed potatoes at Sterling Buffet.

During dinner service, Dannie was at the dessert station. She was not seen that night, and the red team won the service.[1]

Episode 2[]

During the Dumplings Challenge, Dannie was paired up with Jackie, and they were seen getting six of their baskets accepted. The red team won the challenge 13-12, and they were rewarded with a helicopter trip to Geoffrey’s in Malibu for a seafood lunch with Ramsay. During the reward, she admitted that she had never gone on a helicopter before, and called it exciting.

During dinner service, Dannie was on the meat station with Kristin. At one point, she announced that she needed five more minutes on her chicken, only to be ignored by Ariel who sent up Meese's snapper. After Sherkenna struggled on the arctic char, she decided to cook it herself and got her attempt accepted.

The red team lost the service and were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, Dannie remarked how it sucked to be on the losing team and stated that several people should be nominated. Then, she reminded Ashley about the cold flat top incident and agreed with Meese that Ariel fucked her on the snapper.

She was not nominated for elimination.[2]

Episode 3[]

During the Jackets Challenge, Dannie readout Manda's recipe but incorrectly deciphered it as a burrito instead of the correct taquito. This led to Manda's dish to be disqualified. She made an unknown dish, and she did not compete due to the challenge ending prematurely. The red team lost the challenge 3-5, and they were punished by taking in delivery of 100 pounds of sea bass, prepping it for the following service, zesting lemons, and eating a fish head soup for lunch. During the punishment, she told Jackie to find a filter after the red team got annoyed by the latter's attitude.

During dinner service, Dannie was on the appetizer station. At one point, Ramsay urged her to take charge, she wanted to show him she was a leader and was relieved when her risottos were accepted. The red team lost the service and were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, she considered Meese and Manda for elimination for being responsible for the trashed Wellington, and when Ashley considered Vanessa for elimination, she against it as she believed the latter knew what she was doing.

She was not nominated for elimination.[3]

Episode 4[]

Back at the dorms, Dannie confronted Ariel over the latter's decision to nominate Vanessa over Manda, but the latter told her that she was put on the spot by Ramsay. As she tried to get Ariel to quiet her voice, the latter left in frustration.

During the Duck Challenge, Dannie was the fourth person from the red team to have her dish judged and went up against Alan. She made duck and sautéed collier greens, and while it was praised for the collier green aspect, it was criticized for having an overcooked duck, and she scored 5 points. The red team lost the challenge 30-32, and they were punished by prepping ducks for the following service and eating a duck feet sandwich for dinner. During the punishment, she called the dead ducks a little disturbing.

During prep, Dannie got annoyed by Jackie's decision to write "The Fucking List" on their prep list and asked why she would do that. During dinner service, she served a duck confit appetizer tableside. She was not seen that night, the red team lost the service, and were asked to nominate two people for elimination.

Dannie was not nominated for elimination, and after Meese's elimination, welcomed Hassan as a new teammate.[4]

Episode 5[]

During the Holiday Platter Challenge, Dannie was in a three-man team with Hassan and Manda for the Cinco de Mayo platter, but got annoyed by Hassan's leadership, told him to chill out, and reminded him that he just joined the red team. They were the second team from the red team to have their platter judged and went up against the team of Alan, Eddie, and Jared. She made a New York striploin with grilled cactus, it was praised as Linda Fears never had cactus before, and she scored on her dish.

The red team won the challenge 5-4, and they were rewarded with a trip to the Santa Barbara Sunstone Valley for wine blending lessons, and lunch. During the reward, Dannie was excited as the red team has not won anything in a long time. During lunch, she openly revealed that she did not like Hassan as a teammate. When the red team came back from their reward, she claimed that she was the leader of the red team, and did not want somebody else to jump in and take over. That caused an argument between her and Hassan as the latter felt that she had a big ego, and he wanted to help his teammates shine. The argument continued in the kitchen as Hassan tried to reason with her that he wanted to bring what worked in the blue team over to the red, but when she continued to talk back, he yelled that all they have proven was how terrible as a team they were.

During prep, Dannie chose not to participate in communication with the red team. During the Family Night dinner service, she was on the fish station. On Marino's family's ticket, she ignored Hassan's comment that she was firing two tuna's, and was confident in her own abilities. However, she sent up one tuna instead of two, and Ramsay was angry that nobody was on the same page. When she sent up the refire, it was overcooked, and Ramsay yelled that he wanted the next attempt ready in five minutes.

Both teams were named joint losers and were asked to nominate two each. During deliberation, Dannie was considered by Hassan for elimination for fucking up the most that night, but when she argued that she was not the weakest chef on the red team, Kristin believed that she was delusional. Then, she considered Manda and Kristin for elimination.

Dannie was not nominated for elimination, and later, said goodbye to Manda as the latter was reassigned to the blue team.[5]

Episode 6[]

Main article: Episode 1506 - 12 Chefs Compete

During the Shopping Cart Challenge, Dannie was the fifth person from the red team to have her judged by Ramsay and presented her halibut topped with apricot chutney. It was criticized for being a tad too sweet, and she scored 3 points. The red team won the challenge after a tie at 22, and they were rewarded with a day in stunt planes.

During dinner service, Dannie was on the meat station. Despite trying to communicate with Jackie, the latter did not respond. Then, when Jackie sent up her garnishes, she was not ready, and when she did send up her steak, it was well done, and she blamed Jackie for the lack of communication as it caused her steak to cook longer. Both teams were named joint-losers, and for the red team, Ariel was named the Best of the Worst.

She was not nominated for elimination.[6]

Episode 7[]

During the Chef Andi Wedding Planning Challenge, Dannie was paired up with Hassan on the beef entrée, they were the second pair from the red team to have their dishes judged, and went up against the pair of Frank and Jared from the blue team. She made a filet with Romanesco, it was praised for being great and elegant, and she scored for the red team. The red team eventually lost the challenge 1-2, and they were punished by helping the wedding planner, Kristin Banta, with the finishing touches for the following night’s service, and make macaroons.

During the Wedding dinner service, Dannie was on the fish station. At one point, Ramsay found out that she was not using a nonstick pan for the scallops, and while she claimed she could not find any, they were in front of her face, and an annoyed Hassan dropped one on her flat top. The results showed as her scallops were stuck to the pan, and a fed-up Ramsay decided to cook the scallops himself. Both teams were named joint losers and were asked to name two each. During deliberation, she was considered by Kristin and Jackie for elimination, but she did not like that decision, declared that she would not be going home ever in the competition, considered Hassan due to struggling in the past few services, and argued that she was not going home.

Dannie was named the red team's second nominee for elimination, with Hassan as the first, and they joined Chad and Jared from the blue team. During her plea, she retorted that Hassan was dreaming, she was the strongest chef on the red team and was trying everything for her team. She survived elimination, and while being dismissed, she believed that the red team wanted to get rid of her for being a threat, but declared that she was not going anywhere.[7]

Episode 8[]

Back at the dorms, Dannie told Manda that while being up for elimination was terrifying, she knew that she would be passed over for Hassan. Later that night, she received a lap dance from Manda.

During the Ingredient Number Challenge, Dannie was on the pork chop but did not compete as the challenge ended prematurely. The red team won the challenge 3-1, and they were rewarded with a paintball game During the reward, she called Jackie crazy during their game.

Before service began, Dannie warned them that she might steamroll them after Ariel suggested a chest bump. During dinner service, she was at the appetizer station with Kristin. At one point, she told Kristin that she was going to take over the pizzas because she was not comfortable on it, and then, went from six to seven minutes on her risotto. Later, Ariel asked her to run to the oven to check on her chicken, but she poked the chicken instead of cutting the thinker sides until Ariel did it for her. However, she said that she and Ariel worked well together due to having a strong respect for each other. The red team won the service.

During elimination, Dannie was called up by Ramsay and was reassigned to the blue team, being exchanged for Chad. While being dismissed, she was in shock over being transferred to the blue team, but she declared it a new start and felt that she may look good in blue.[8]

Episode 9[]

Back at the dorms, Dannie was still in shock over being transferred, but come the next day, she put on her new blue jacket, felt that she looked good in that color, and called every day in Hell’s Kitchen that they had to be ready for.

During the Bison Cut Challenge, Dannie was paired up against Ashley on the filet, she lost the shootout, and their country was Thailand. During the cooking, she knew that it was her chance to prove herself. She was the final person from the blue team to have her dish judged by Ramsay, went up against Ashley, and was ready to lead the blue team to victory. She made a grilled bison filet and grilled bison spring rolls, Ramsay praised the dish for having a beautifully cooked bison, and she tied that round with Ashley. The blue team eventually lost the challenge after a tie at 4, and they were punished by making bread by hand, churning butter for a special Cowboy Steak Night, and cleaning the carpet from Jack the bison's accident early on.

During the Cowboy Steak Night dinner service, Dannie was on the fish station. At the start of service, Jared told her to drop her “Can I?” attitude, but she was not intimidated due to her boxer persona and wanted to be in control of her station that night. She was seen getting her dishes accepted, and the blue team won the service.[9]

Episode 10[]

Before the Breakfast Challenge, Dannie revealed that she had yogurt and a banana for breakfast. She worked on the seafood dish, was the second person from the blue team to have her dish judged, and went up against Chad. She made a crab cake with poached egg, it was criticized for being a little overcooked, and she scored 5 points. The blue team won the challenge 25-23, and they were rewarded with a trip to Palm Springs in a private jet and got to ride in ATV’s. During the reward, she drove her ATV slowly.

During the brunch service, Dannie was on the appetizer station. After the blue team was berated for Jared's raw chicken, she promised Ramsay that they could turn it around. After Jared got kicked out of the kitchen, she knew that while there was added pressure with the former gone, she just wanted to get the food out. After Manda was kicked out, she and Frank received help from the red team as Ramsay decided to merge both teams. Both teams were named joint-losers and were asked to come up with an explanation of what happened. During deliberation, she reminded Frank that everybody had to share the problems of that service.

Dannie voted for Frank for elimination and received no votes.[10]

Episode 11[]

During the Relay Challenge, Dannie participated in the third and seventh rounds and was not seen much in either round. The blue team won the challenge after a tie at 2, and they were rewarded with a VIP day at the Santa Anita Park Racetrack. During the reward, she was surprised to find out how close they were to the track.

During dinner service, Dannie was on the meat station. She was not seen that night, and the blue team won the service.[11]

Episode 12[]

Before the Blind Taste Test, Dannie called the ice cream truck outside weird, and when the topping and whipped cannon was revealed, she said that she would rather have the dunk tank from the previous seasons than having whipped cream in her hair. Before Jared's turn, she asked him not to get stuff in her hair but was shot at once. She was the final person from the blue team to compete, went up against Ariel, and wanted to step up and try her best despite the blue team way behind. She failed to correctly guess any of her ingredients, and Jared got splattered twice. The blue team lost the challenge 3-10, and they were punished by prepping durian fruit for a dessert in the following service. During the punishment, she questioned how they were going to turn something that was churning her stomach into a dessert.

During dinner service, Dannie was on the appetizer station. At the start of service, she changed her time from seven minutes to two minutes on her risottos, and Frank accused her of fucking him due to her poor communication skills. Later, she got confused when Jared produced an overcooked and blue steak in a short amount of time. The blue team lost the service and were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, while she claimed that everybody made mistakes, Frank reminded her about her inconsistent timings.

Dannie was not nominated for elimination but was blamed by Jared for her poor communication skills. Then, when Ramsay asked if anybody touched Frank's snapper, Jared claimed that she sent the remaining raw snappers to the pass, but she denied it despite video footage proving that she did indeed send it up.[12]

Episode 13[]

The next day, Dannie reunited with her sister. During the Cooking School Challenge, she calmly told her sister what to do as the latter was a chef. She and her sister were the final pair from the blue team, their branzino was praised for having a lovely presentation, tasting good, and was named the best dish of the blue team. She lost to Kristin from the red team, and the blue team was punished by participating in cleaning day which included cleaning up the dorms. She was disappointed that the blue team lost again, and said that it sucked.

During dinner service, Dannie was on the meat station. At one point, Jared ignored her warning about putting more salt into the carbonara, and it resulted in an overly salty taste. Later, her steaks were blue with raw fat on them, and then, she was slow on meat, especially when she announced that she needed more time on her Wellington’s. While she refused to serve cold food, Ramsay reminded her that the customers were suffering from her mistakes, before announcing that she needed one minute to reheat them.

The blue team lost the service, and both teams were asked to nominate two people from the blue team. During deliberation, Jared reminded Dannie about her slow-paced performance, but she called him a liar, much to his frustration. Then, she commented that she did not want to deal with the drama any longer, but Ariel asked her how she could become a head chef with that kind of attitude, Kristin commented that she was not seeing her passion, and a frustrated Ashley said that she was tired of her acting like she was better than everybody else, before being told that she was not.

Dannie was named the blue team's first nominee, with Manda as the second. During her plea, Ramsay reminded her about her second poor service in a row, but she argued that she never gave up as well and that she fought every single day. She was eliminated for her declining performances and running out of chances. During her exit interview, she was shocked as she tried to lead the blue team, but considered her future a bright one.

Ramsay's comment: "Dannie may be a boxer in her spare time, but her lack of fight tonight proved she just couldn't go the distance." [13]

Episode 16[]

Dannie was one of the eight chefs that returned for the final dinner service. She was Ariel's third pick, after Jackie and Manda, and followed by Jared. When Ariel was describing her menu at a fast pace, she compared it to Ramsay’s speed over ticket calls.

During dinner service, Dannie was on the meat station. At one point, while she was hoping to provide a great service for the former, she also did not want to be there again. Then, her pork chops were cold, but she claimed that she was only human, and her refire was accepted. Later, one of her pork chops was sent back for being undercooked, and when she sent up the refire to the pass, Ramsay and Ariel found it to be overcooked, and he accused her of not caring. Then, she argued that she never asked to come back after Ramsay asked for the best from her, and walked out of the blue kitchen. Ariel would eventually win the finals over Kristin.[14]

  • After her appearance on the show, Dannie returned to her catering business Palate that she runs with her sister and was the Restaurant Manager at Urban Farmer Restaurant.
  • Later she moved to Lakehouse Restaurant as Executive Chef until October 2017.
  • She is also a volunteer at Kitchen Cred.
  • She was recently a contestant on Food Network's Beat Bobby Flay.
