The eighteen new chefs arrived at Hell's Kitchen, where Marino awaited them. The chefs entered Hell's Kitchen and noticed the past winners from each season before entering the dining room. To give the chefs some inspiration, Ramsay decided to have them walk through the famous doors and have a taste of what it felt like to win. Afterwards, the chefs got to know each other before the Sous Chefs arrived, explaining how their time in the competition helped their careers. Afterwards, a guitar player appeared and played the national anthem as four other doors appeared behind the curtain, each figure explaining their journey for the American Dream. After Ramsay stepped out, he welcomed the chefs to the twenty-second season, where they were celebrating the American Dream. Ramsay said the three celebrities the chefs saw were proof of the American Dream and that Hell's Kitchen was part of the American Dream. Ramsay said the winner of that season would become his Head Chef at Hell's Kitchen in Caesars Las Vegas with a salary of $250,000. Then, Ramsay told the chefs that their Signature Dish Challenge was about to begin.
During the Signature Dish Challenge, Claudia was the fifth person from the red team to have her dish judged by Ramsay, and she went up against Johnathan. She revealed she was from Switzerland and could speak four and a half languages. She presented her schnatzlitz, but Ramsay said it was overcooked. When she began giggling, Raneisha feared she would be a problem as Ramsay gave her two points. The red team won the challenge after a 29-point tie. They were rewarded with a day at a Beverly Hills Mansion.[1]
Claudia did not win the Creative Scallops Challenge as her dish was not picked as one of the top three.
During dinner service, Claudia was at the garnish station. After Ramsay chewed out Sandra for serving raw chicken after seven minutes, she randomly asked for a time on the chicken. Then, she giggled over her mistake, but Ramsay was unimpressed and kicked the women out of the kitchen. She argued it was a nervous reaction, but Ramsay stood by his word. Both teams were named joint-losers, and they were asked to nominate two each.
She was not nominated for elimination.[2]
Episode 3[]
- Main article: Episode 2203 - Citizens of Hell's Kitchen
When the chefs entered the dining room and saw a choir singing God Bless America, Claudia realized it was a ceremony for a group of immigrants to become American as she went through the process last year. She called it an honor to be an American and wanted to win so she could live the true American Dream. During the American Citizen Brunch Service Challenge, she was at the meat station with Donya. At one point, she served the women’s chicken and waffles, only for Ramsay to slice into a raw chicken. Ramsay brought the women to the front to show them and asked her what planet she was on. She claimed she was from America, Earth, but her joke did not amuse Ramsay. Ramsay called it embarrassing and told the women to get a grip. The red team lost the challenge, and they were punished by having to clean up all the confetti in the dining room by hand.
During dinner service, Claudia was at the fish station with Donya. Although Sandra got her risotto out, she was late on the lobster tail and frantically poached it. She admitted that she never poached a lobster tail before and had Donya walk it to the front. However, it was raw, and Ramsay told her to heat it up as he would like to get out of the gates strong. An annoyed Carmen told her to wake up, and Sandra could not believe she screwed up on something easy. Both teams were named joint losers, and they were asked to nominate two each. During deliberation, Carmen pointed out that she did nothing to help Donya and felt the former deserved to go home as she was in la la land for most of her time in the competition. She did not feel she deserved to be nominated, even though Carmen brought up the raw lobster tail.
Claudia was the second person from the red team to be nominated for elimination, with Donya as the first. They joined Mattias and Brad from the blue team. During her plea, she wanted to prove to Ramsay she could do well. She was eliminated for not helping her teammate when needed and showing an unprofessional and ditzy attitude. During her exit interview, Claudia was disappointed that she was going home as she wanted to be a part of the Ramsay family in Las Vegas.[3]
Ramsay's comment: "Claudia can speak four languages, but cooking definitely isn’t one of them."
