The eighteen new chefs arrived in Los Angeles in two separate limos heading to Hell's Kitchen. The limos arrived at Hell's Kitchen, where Marino was waiting for them. Marino greeted the chefs and introduced them to their Sous Chefs Christina and Jason. They explained that there would be obstacles, but you cannot let them get in your way. Later on, Ramsay was on a monster truck and crashed into a car, shocking the contestants. Ramsay used it as an example of not letting anything get in your way. Ramsay explained that, like how the limos got them where they wanted to go, he wanted a chef to take him where he wanted to go. Ramsay wondered whether to hire a chef in their 20s or a chef in their 40s, revealing that this season would be a battle of the ages. Ramsay told the contestants to separate between a group of 20s and a group of 40s. Ramsay announced the Signature Dish Challenge and gave the chefs 45 minutes to cook their dishes.

During the Signature Dish Challenge, Charlene expressed how important her dish was to her and how she made it for her kids. She was the fourth person from the blue team to have her dish judged by Ramsay and went up against Dafne. She presented a cowboy ribeye. Ramsay praised it for the seasoning being on point and the steak being perfectly cooked, giving her four points. The blue team lost the challenge after a tiebreaker at 31, and they were punished with delivery day and cleaning both kitchens. [1]

During the Creative Chicken Wing Challenge, Charlene made an unknown dish, and she lost the challenge as she was not called as part of the top three.

While the Sous Chefs demonstrated the dishes during services to the chefs, Charlene stated that she was not confident about service and compared the feeling to going to prom with your cousin. During prep, she was concerned about being on the meat station with Billy as the latter was a little wild, and she called him a monkey.

During dinner service, Charlene was at the meat station with Billy. When Ramsay called out the first order of entrées, she wasn't paying too much attention and got called out on it. When asked how long the chicken would take, she again didn't reply until being refocused by Billy and then replied fifteen minutes, leaving Ramsay confused. When Ramsay asked why for fifteen minutes, she said she didn't want to give him the wrong number. After revealing to Billy that she was putting down the chicken immediately, that left Ramsay furious that she did not start the chicken yet and pulled them all into the pantry room. She expressed that it's overwhelming that Ramsay is screaming at her and telling her how stupid she is. After allowing Billy to take over the meat station, she ended up okaying a raw chicken from him, which was rejected and led the blue team to get kicked out.

The blue team lost the service and was asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, Charlene admitted that she should have said that the chicken needed another minute. However, she felt like when she was paired up with Billy, it was the problem due to the ego and not taking responsibility for his mistakes.

Charlene was the blue team's first nominee, with Billy being the second. In her plea, she stated that you could not fix what you can't admit, and she admitted that she wasn't too vocal. When Ramsay asked her if she was better than what he saw that night, she replied absolutely and said she was not in the driver's seat; she was in the passenger seat and apologized for it. She was eliminated for her poor performance on meat and for being too quiet. During her exit interview, she was disappointed that she only had one service and lost her confidence.

Ramsay's comment: "Charlene had trouble with her chicken, and Zeus was nothing but a chicken. Good riddance."[2]
